Do you keep your tang in its recommended tank size?

Do YOU keep your tangs in the right tank sizes? As someone who is stuck with a 75g 4 foot, I will never be able to permanently keep any of the tangs other than the bristletooths. I am looking forward to getting a small tang and housing it for a year until it outgrows my 75.
The 'right' tank size is an interesting debating point.

Don’t waste swimming room with live rock mountains. Utilize the back and side glass for your rock work. My 90 has more swimming room than some 225’s I’ve seen around.

My Purple and Hippo are Happy, Happy, Happy in my goldfish bowl. ;)

It's worth noting that "recommended" sizes vary quite a bit internationally.
The recommended tank sizes for the larger tangs (in bold) from Danireef are 45G smaller on average.
Danireef is the most popular website in Italy about reefing, they collaborate quite a bit with reefs.com. Their article on the recommended tank sizes for tangs is also available in English, in case you're curious.

I think it's worth noting because it does seem often than there's no other point of view on the matter other than what is being recommended in the US.

Hi, I would never consider keeping an Achilles tang in a tank smaller than 200 gallons orange tang needs the same too…. That tank size for a sohol is pushing it too but you might get away with it…

As someone with 6 tangs in my 210g, I feel they require suitable top/front open areas to cruise. If you have small ones you can go with a few but you need to watch out for aggressive behavior if tanks less than 55g — bigger is better always!

I have a 6 foot 180 gallon tank with 4 tangs sail fin, purple Tang orange Tang and a clown Tang and that all Tangs that I will put in there I have a foxface 2 clowns and 6 other fish that's all the fish that the tank is going to have

I’ve got ONE, a decent sized purple tang. 80gal he is my favorite fish. Happy, healthy and not aggressive to his tank mates, eats out of my hand and just hangs around with my storm clowns most of the time. I attribute my NSA scape to his happiness lots of swimming space open and swim throughs and I’ve got a low stock. Tang, two clowns mocha and black storm, flame hawk and a spotted jawfish.
