zeovit and how I dose it

Lol I post this 2 weeks ago and only 1 is reading it I guess zeovit is not popular anymore in the US.

It's hard to get sometimes which is a bummer; I went away from it about 8 years ago when I would not be able to keep up with the routine because of availability. Even today I use flatworm stop as it got rid of my AEFW after 6 months but I want to continue to use it. I either have to find it and pay extra because some random amazon seller is charging extra or hope the major vendors get it in stock. It comes and goes at BRS regularly but sometimes they won't get shipment of it in stock for 4+ weeks.

There are so many cheaper ways of reaching UNLS these days; for large tanks the reactors and stones got a bit out of hand $$$ especially when you can just get a sulfur denitrator or algae scrubber and get the same results.

Zeovit have 2 sale in November black Friday and summer time around 4 of July that's when I stock up. Regarding the cost it's a myth that zeovit is expensive because they are very concentrated and on that note zeovit are very popular in Europe and Asia when the reef culture is different from America. They are willing to invest more into brand name equipment in return make their tank much better. On the other hand American reefer rather buy 300$ Home Wrecker frag.

For those who's pm me regarding the light I use. I run 3xorphek v4 g2 and 4xblue led and 4xuv led 8x36" blue plus T5 4x360X kessil. Orphek is really match with zeovit since the color is mix like T5 but have led contrast.

Dropping phosphate and nitrate can be done a number of ways, but you need to figure out why they are getting so high. I’d probably cut out the pellets. Are you skimming? If you’re skimming efficiently, I’d then plan a refugium to increase your export.

Phosphate can be dropped pretty quickly some GFO in your sump.

Im skimming wet and the zeovit forum advice me to use GFO and I'm using it now.but is it normal to get this high number ? Its from zeovit supplement ??

Its from your food, most likely, the pellets.

edit: Keep an eye on your phosphate as GFO can drop it quickly. You don’t want zero phosphate either.

Yeah i use GFO 50% of the recommendation.i will test tomorrow po4.

How old is your tank? I don't see much Coral at all. When u start adding more corals your nitrate will go down since corals consume nitrate.

can i but coral with this high po4 and no2 ?

You can add some lps like acan or chalice. Some Hardy Sps like Monti or staghorn. The rabbit fish is a little too big for your tank may be u can trade it for a smaller fish. Are u mixing your own salt or buy premix. Next time do a test to see what level of no3 and po4 from the water change to make sure u don't add nitrate and phosphate when u do WC.

I want to trade the rabbit fish but all my LFS is close because of carona;/.
Im the one who mix my salt with RODI and tropic marine pro salt. I will do a WC today i will test and check.

It's normal for new cycle tank to have higher nitrate and phosphate level since the biology of the tank is not established yet also you don't have any corals to consume it. After tank mature and you start adding Coral you will see the level decrease

I just check my new mix salt water : po4: 0.015 ppm and No3:zer0

That's fine no problem. Just give it a few more months u can start adding corals slowly

Do you suggest to reduce my zeovit dosing because i dont have coral yet ?

Like the drain on the Tunze. I don't mind cleaning my skimmer cup every three days as I feel they operate better with a clean neck, but it would really come in handy when I'm away from home. I'm sure my house sitter would LOVE it ;)

@ycnibrc . I'm just starting out. Fishless cycle with ammonia. 2.5 weeks so far. What should I do to start off with Zeovit? Would like to do hybrid approach. I have RSR650, Bubble mangus curve 7, caribsea life rock and sand. No lights yet as. Looking at Reefi, red sea and other led options. Do i need zeo reactor to start or at all? Should I get lighting setup before starting? Can stones be ran passively in sump? Been reading all the threads, lots to absorb so thanks for your time in helping us out.
