I was lucky and got the clear mesh from a LFS who ordered it in bulk -- it's hard to source around AZ otherwise -- but I think BulkReefSupply sells it. Anyway, I just cut the mesh and used a hacksaw on some screen door trimming to get the sizes I need and then you pull the mesh over the frame and use spline (like this) and a spline roller (like this) to secure it into place. Other than the mesh, I got everything I needed to make covers for both tanks for under $25. Let me know if that doesn't make sense and I'll try to do a better job of explaining it or take better pictures so you can see what I'm talking about.
