Those two little fish are sweet!

They're very pretty but fragile and hard to acclimate. Hopefully we'll have better luck with these guys than we did with the ventralis anthias.

I'm glad you decided to join R2R, it's a great site! I think there's more consistency with 2-part via doser and, financially, it made the most sense on this size of tank.

Thanks Brett. We actually came home to find that the larger one didn't make it the smaller one seems to be doing fine. However, we said that about the larger one too. Haven't been treating them for anything. Just watching them and making sure that they're picking on everything, which both were.

The little red ruby went into the tank yesterday and is doing well. I wish I could say the same for some of my SPS. I'm on the verge of losing 3 dragon-like acros -- the main red one that I've posted many pictures of is doing fine -- and perhaps a green psammy. I'm not exactly sure if it's the cause, but I left the heat to my house off the other night and it caused the house to drop down to 64-degrees (normally runs around 68-degrees during the winter) and the in-tank heaters weren't strong enough to keep the tank temp in the normal range. Tank temps dropped to 75.8 (normal low is 76.9) overnight. Stupid mistake and it's a real bummer losing those pieces.

Anyway, I took these pictures before all that and forgot to post them here. Enjoy!

The fire shrimp pair are still holding strong after about a year. They still release eggs every once in awhile and molt all the time.

Thanks M&T. Stay tuned too; I'm going to be making a lighting change based on your recent update. I'll have to bug you about settings and other recommendations.

I replaced the halide over the Envision with a Hydra52 this weekend and I'm still playing around with the settings. Currently things are in acclimation mode so it's not what it will ultimately look like -- I'm also continuing to run the VHO SuperActinics, at least through the LED acclimation.

I mounted the Hydra right where the halide was:

Here's a FTS with the Hydras at 40% of final intensity + VHO SuperActinics -- it's really hard to accurately capture the look and I don't think it's as blue as depicted below, but it's close:

Things are running at 40% of what's listed here and they'll slowly ramp up over a 6-week period automatically using the AI Director.

Here's a little video to demonstrate the coverage of the AI unit. The color is slightly off and it's a little underexposed while the AI is on and overexposed when the actinics come on, but you'll get a decent understanding.

Yes, I'm happy so far -- nothing has reacted negatively. Still can't get over seeing how stunning the corals look under the Blue/UV leds (though, UVs are staying pretty low <20%).

I could bring it up about 1.5" without having to modify the canopy -- just need to make a few adjustments to the bracket.
