Zibba's Reefs -- ADA 90P & Envision 100g

Just read through this. I love your photography skills. I can't even get a good picture of a statue.

Sorry to hear about your anthias and also the AEFW. Hope everything is okay moving forward.

Hi Tommy! Thanks for the compliment and taking the time to read through the thread. I'm more bummed about the anthias than the AEFWs at this point because they haven't caused as much destruction as I was expecting. Perhaps there's a calm before the storm.

I'll keep trying my best to give the corals a good home and updating the thread!

Yeah, upgraded to the D600 about 6 months ago or so but still shooting with the 105. Glass sure does last!

Thanks for stopping in, Chris!

Kwoww's ADA get all the attention but the Envision is coming along pretty darn nice too! Here's a shot of the right side:

Great picture updates, Zibba! So sorry to hear about the AEFW and hope you are able to manage and rid your tank of the pests without any losses.

Beautiful!

What does any reefer do when things are going fairly well and there's no need to make a change? Try something new, of course! After getting some local ringing-endorsements, I decided to give AcroPower a go.

The recommended dosage is 5mL per 25 gallons per week, which equates to about 25mL/week for me. It says you can added it all at once or break up the dosage. I started manually dosing 5mL/day four days go and I'm not going to go over 25mL/week until I get a better feel for how the corals react.

I'm not going to claim that I've noticed any changes yet because I did a 25g water change yesterday and changed out the carbon/gfo.

The only variable that's going to be slightly thrown off is that I only filled the GFO reactor up with half of my normal amount (0.5c vs. 1c). The reason I did that is just to see if I can get by using less GFO and because my clam hasn't been fully expanding.

I have plenty of "before" pictures that I should be able to use as a reference so we'll see how this little experiment goes. If I notice the results others are claiming, it's very likely that I'll swap out the Magnesium for the AcroPower in the doser. I haven't "dosed" Mg for several months now. Just monitoring it and it's staying in line with regular water changes (plus, if you've read a long and recall, I had to raise the Mg to battle bryopsis and it takes a long time for it to naturally come down).

Here are a few other pictures that were recently taken:

Did think these were going to make it, but after several iodine dips they seem to have recovered :)

This one has done pretty well since moving it under the halides (keeping it pretty well shaded though)

Great personality on this guy, looking forward to watching him fatten up and color up!

I drool over these photos on Flickr but just now realized I never visited your thread. Tank looks great and the photography is top notch!

I've noticed more and more tanks lately living with AEFW. Your corals look so good you might consider going that route.
