Hello! It's me again with my annoying threads lol

How are you? I hope you are having a great week..
Saturday,3 days ago,I got this Zoa colony but they are not opening fully.. Here is a picture of it..They never opened more than this, something other polyps open but not all for sure.. more than 1/2 of it still closed,or just a bit opened.. Does they take time to acclimate? Should I need to worry?

Thank you in advanced!

It was closed when I bough it because It was at the morning I got it the tank was not lighted, and also the arrival of these corals were the last night.I bought it Saturday morning ,they arrived Friday night.

Give them some time to acclimate to your tank.
I have had polyps stay closed for a few days at a time , and then they just open up.
As long as they are not melting u should be ok .

Hello Veselym,
No unfortunately I never dipped any coral. this is my 5th coral.

Do you think the light isn't enough for them? they are in the bottom of the tank,on the sand band bellow maxspect razor 160w.
tank volume: 120G 65cm deep

After telling me about dipping.
I am thinking to dip them with revive.
What do you think? Wait few days more before dipping or do it?

Those type of vietnam rocks are ussually full of nudis. Be carefull and look for them. That's a nudi with eggs

Definitely dip! What Josh mentioned about nudis is a very important point. You should also consider quarantining all new additions. Good luck! Hope those zoas do well for you! :-)

Hello oliver :) well those kind of corals need a moderate flow ;)

Hy Charbel,I placed them in a medium flow,I turned my wavemaker on lol..
Anyway! I got REVIVE and dipped them!
GOD where these pests were hiding!!
I don't know what are they, there were small white stuff jumping in the water, plus some kind of small shrimp? I don't know what maybe amphipods..? And some serpent sea star and others stuff, spaghetti worm I guess..
But unfortunately while dipping and putting a bit of flow using a syringe,I noticed that there are some spots on my colony where zoas are not well fixed.. but alive since in that spot they were opening before dipping them, some of the polyps 4-5 of them felt from the colony while dipping.. (the polyps that are not fixed well are only on the edges of the live rock)
I hope it is not a big problem that some polyps will fall..They were like that since I got them.. But I didn't notice that..(my bad)Since saturday I didn't notice any increase into polyps falling, maybe it was due to bad shipping?

I think that my colony is sick, since the day 1 I got it.. They are still not fully opening, and I noticed these couple of days some melting..
There is a corner of the live rock where the polyps are extending fully,is it possible I don't know if there is a method to only keep the polyps I want ,and get rid of all the other??
What about breaking the LR?? but it will be difficult to get only the corner I need..

Hello, well do to my final exams schedule I couldn't break the LR to keep the good polyps so I kept it as it is.. Some polyps did melt and I have some empty spots now on my LR but I think the melting stopped! and I have all the polyps on the LR opening..There is a 3rd zoa that I couldn't identify yet,it covers the majority of the live rock they are pale orange colored.. Here is a pic

Stronger water flow might be the issue it seems you have them on the sand and they might not have enough flow and strong enough lighting. Check your phosphates also they hate high phosphates

True they were on the sand,I placed them up yesterday on my LR,but before changing their place they were opening,I will see if by changing the location they will thrive more.. I will let you know :)
Phosphate 0
Thanks
