Zoa explosions

But to help with your problem... Just plant something else around them to stop them. Maybe a nice branching Hydnophora or some candy canes. Actually a nice clump of candy canes would look nice there. Like these...

That was my thought as I was reading what others had to say about getting rid of them. Do it the natural way.

My goodness, stop fear mongering.
Not fear mongering. Just was warning of a potential hazard. You dont want to be concerned dont be. Go ahead next time and be careless. Ive been in the hospital for palytoxin and let me tell you not being able to walk for nearly a month isnt fun. I knew a guy whos dog ate one and the dog died. Theres a thread whos family was hospitalized for boiling a rock with them on it. There are many threads of palytoxin poisoning just do a search on google. Being aware for the ones who are not aware is very imortant. If we dont say and make people aware of the potential dangers, palys will be banned. We dont want that right? That said, i misidentified them so its not a worry i guess.

In your eyes you may have not been fear mongering and were just warning of potential hazards but the multiple messages that were like, "take the rock out and throw it away or everyone in your family will end up in the hospital(so far blown out of proportion its not even funny)" or "dont kill them in the tank you will will get poisoned" comes across pretty much like that. I mean if they are so dangerous how are they getting fragged by vendors, LFS, and even people at home all the time? Furthermore the kalk paste injection used on aiptasia has been very proven to work for controlling zoa spread by a lot of people on this forum.

The threads you generalized that are out there have no doubt happened but there is a huge difference to what is being asked here and someone being willfully ignorant by say boiling rocks inside to try and clean them or fragging them without any sort of eye/face ppe.

I would take some rubble rocks and place them on top of the zoas or glue them to the rocks. The zoas will slowly migrate to and grow onto the rocks and then they can be removed to make some frags without trying to remove them from the larger rock.

I'd do this too. Part of what I've tried doing a lot recently with corals is careful positioning where slower corals with stronger stings are positioned in areas I want to keep my faster growing corals from going.

like others have said, place other corals to stop it spreading. Meanwhile u can have my flame angel who's been eating my zoas. :( However ur tank does look amazing, wish I had such issue.
