Its probably a visual perception change from using different, less blue lighting than in the store. It's open and looks fine imo

Did it lose this color over time or did it not look red as soon as you put it into your tank?

Red zoas look brown under white lights… if you don’t have any actinic (blue spectrum), it will remain brown

I think that light is more for a planted tank, colors might not be great on it.

side note i still havent seen a red zoa before, they all look more orange or pink to my eye and not really red

Oh… I have plenty of reds ;)

i can't put only the blue lights on to check
That’s odd… the website states there are 4 different color modes… also, I’d change lighting if you’re planning on running a reef tank

yes it is wierd but i was never able to do it i can only turn them off

I just got one that's a pretty decent red. Not fire engine of course, but the most red I've seen so far.

May want to reach out to customer service in the meantime to figure out why it’s not working as stated, but you will need to change lights 100%

prob, matters if they are just running a softie tank they may get away with it but definitely not the best choice of lighting

I have been looking for a "true" red. Not orange-red (like bloodsuckers) or kind of red. I got Kedds Reds, but mine are tiny. Do you think these might be what I am looking for?

The reason it may not look red is that it appears to be a paly and not regular zoa and likely a button paly or cinnamon that appears red under certain spectrum
