Aww my bf would cry if he saw this lol. How big is your bc though? Maybe it's an issue with the 14's...?

Yea that's not a bad one at all. I have a wrasse in my tank just for pods. I have a 6 line and an arabian pseudochromis as my pod clean up Crew.

I think the issue is that most people don't put wrasses or other fish that pick on pests in nanos... Maybe that's the reason and if there's a specific species that eats pods I can see how it would be an issue in some nanos. Like I said that one rock in my 55 is the only one out of my many zoas with issues so maybe that colony was already infected and it hasn't spread to the others because of my wrasses keeping them under control. However the owner of my lfs doesn't believe this like I said

Try tossing a 6line in. They stay small, have pretty cool colors and are vigorous little eaters. They can be a bit mean but more then worth it as far as corals go.

It would be the last fish in that tank (2 clowns and a fire fish already) so maybe aggression wouldn't be too bad. maybe I'll get a baby and move it to his dad's 55 if it looks unhappy

His sand bed looks like it's moving there's so many pods....

No... But I have the test kit for it... What would the significance be with that?

I don't believe its the water parameters problem. Get a pod eating fish right away. My biocube was full of amipods, the day I put in a zoa, 2 days later would be gone. Clown usually won't eat pods, so either a mandarin or wrasse. All my zoa are gone, untill 1 last poly was save due to I got a mandarin..........

^^^^ I KNEW I WASNT NUTS!!! My lfs WOULD NOT believe me he looked at me like I was crazy and sold me some vitamin c instead!!! These freaking things are everywhere!!! And I really think they're doing it to the colony in my tank that we split from another store!!! I just think they've only been restricted to that spot because of my wrasses- may dip the colony in iodine to try and kill off the buggers. Because I have seen pods in my tank- which is unusual I usually see NONE. Probably gonna get him a 6 line and if it outgrows the tank or becomes an issue, I'll move it somewhere else. I don't want to go through the heartbreak of losing a mandarin again. I had one eating frozen brine in my 20 but it died from a battle with some kind of fin rot that took a gramma and purple fire fish as well =\

What you want to do is remove all zoa from there, and fresh water dip for a minute or 2 and shake the pods off it. If you can transport the zoa into your tank, than that would be great. Let the wrasse get the pods for 3 - 4 days. Start to put small zoa in there and see if their open or not. If everything good, than you can start to transfer things back. Amphipods are good because they eat left over, but if there is not enough food, and their over populating; they will eat corals. If you search google on amphipods, you'll find some people posting same thing happen to your bf tank. I think I saw few youtube video with amphipods munch on zoas if you guys need more proof. Remember Reef tank is suppose to be part of ocean, and ocean is constantly providing food for the corals, fish, and other things. If you don't feed your tank enough, the critter or they might eat other stuff.

Haha... There are no zoas left now... He has 1 paly on its way out from a colony in my tank that's overgrown...

well, here is a video of the munching if you guys want to see it. Also another way to see if your over popluating your pods, is drop 3-5 pellets onto the sand floor. If you see bunch of movement from the sand and rocks, than yea.........your over population your pods.

You could literally look at the sand bed and just see tons of pods moving. I was in shock. I've never seen so many pods in a tank lol. The lucky wrasse we get is going to have a field day

Haha I love the music btw. The actinics are on now and those big nasty ones are coming out and harassing that 1 last paly. I feel like I'm watching a horror movie...
