I have a few questions about my zoas.
1. I have bought several zoas (illuminates, candy apple, salted agave) and they all came to me stretched. All my other zoas aren't stretched. Will these zoas ever unstretch? I have them in moderate flow and light.

Sorry for the really blue pics. They are unhappy now because I have recently moved them.
2. I bought some illuminatis zoas from WWC and they haven't really opened up all the way since I have had them. I put them next to my other zoas that are happy but they won't open. I have been moving them all around but they won't open. Any thoughts?

Thanks :D

I probably didn't word those the best. Sorry if you are confused about the questions :p

I've had my polyps stretch like that when reaching for more light. My personal experience. Unsure on the ones that have yet to fully open, unless moving them around a lot has irked them a bit.
I put the ones that are stretching at the top of my rock work. They are getting about the same amount of light as my anemone.
I will move the ones that are not opening to one spot for a week or two and if they don't open, I move them then.

not sure if you received these from the time splitter sale. I picked up some orchids and Rastas. the orchids were stretched similar to yours. i moved them around the first week being inpatient. i have them on the sand and they have slowly flattened out, still not all the way tho. the 2 heads have already grown 3 more heads. do they fully open during the day? and what lights are you running?

I got the illuminatis and the candy apple from the sale. The candy apple fully open but the illuminatis don't. I am running T5's with 4 bulbs. 3 blue and 1 white. All my other zoas are happy other then my fire and ice. The fire and ice where happy but for some reason they stopped opening. I think some of the heads are actually melting or disappearing. Last night I saw a large amiphiopid on them. Will they sometimes eat zoas?

Eek. Not sure then. All other zoa/palys are doing well I'm assuming? Hope someone pops by with a solid answer and solution.
my fire and ice are unhappy for some reason. I think something is eating them but I do t have anything to dip them.

Looks like your frags came from a heavily populated colony. In this situation they do have longer stems as they all compete for light. It should settle down since the competition is gone.

Yeah unfortunately for me in the week of messing with them i ended up having the Rastas melt on me. hopefully they will come back tho. Zoos are tricky for me sometimes. had a colony melt to 1 head before fully repopulating. hopefully it just needs some time to settle in. i wouldn't move it much more, it will just agitate them more.

Thanks. I have had them for awhile now though and they still haven't settled down

Thanks :D I'll leave them be for a little. I just want my illuminatis to be happy so they will grow out so I can sell them. I got them %66 off in the sale :p

What is your no3 and po4 at? Also how often do you have to clean your glass?
(This just popped into my head)
I don't know what my parameters are and I don't have any test kits on me but whenever I test them they are both 0 (if you mean nitrates and phosphates). I know that zoas like a little nitrates but I can't get them over 0, even if I try. I clean my glass about twice a week. My tank doesn't get a lot of sunlight so algae grows really slow on the glass.

Do you feed your tank any frozen foods like LRS or Rod's food?
This will help bring the doc's up a little
