1000G Puffer Display

Speaking of customer service.....

Its getting to that time where I have to start planning the filtration.
So I sent a mail to Alexander Grah in Germany at Abyzz pumps. He got straight back to me and even skyped me to walk me through a few things. My kind of guy, he likes clean effective systems and helped me hash it out.

I will go into this in much more detail later as we build it but the rough plan is to have the 2 x 50mm outs run down from the display, through 2 roller mats and then into the skimmer. From the skimmer it will run into the sump before returning through 2 40mm returns to the display.

I will run Ozone through the skimmer and more than likely UV on the return from the sump to the display.

Looking at running some of Alex's Abyzz 200 for the returns. I like the efficiency and power of these pumps as well as the control. Plus when they are willing to sit on skype with you for half an hour and get excited about your system it helps!

I also really like the idea of 2 roller mats, meaning I
dont have to deal with filter floss of filter socks.

Looking at these from Theiling in Germany, Display, skimmer and looks like pumps are all German so why not! haha

I would love the batfish, just not ready for it

Noooo! did he not have a lid on it?! such a shame
He had some type of cover but it did not good at all unfortunately. There was no stopping the monster. He just got a huge display for it and all

Unloaded with him the other day. 2 weeks more and it would have been setup. The bat fish is awesome let me know when ready and can see if it's still there. I get my zoa shipment from uk this week. Not looking forward to those robbing ukers at customs

I really like the idea of using roller mats for your system. With all the poo and gunk that will be produced from your big puffers and other larger fish, the roller mats should keep the water free from particles and crystal clear (especially with running ozone). I have only heard great things from using roller mats and it seems like such a time saver without having to change out filter socks. Have you used roller mats on a previous system, if so how was your experience?

I have seen them before but never used myself. Alexander from Abyzz was praising them so highly and to be honest like you say everyone I know that has used them only has positive things to say about them.

You made him mad

Well today is one of those **** days.

I lost my Golden Puffer. He just didn't fully recover from tank crash even though he has been fighting like a trooper and at one point I thought he was going to pull through.

I hate loosing fish especially when it's my fault. I just wasn't ready for the move but unfortunately life dictated different.

I think it's important to share the downsides as well as the cool stuff, we all f$$& up!

I had him from 15 cm to 25cm now, he was a great personality and hand tame, he will be missed which only you fish guys understand. Everyone else just thinks I'm nuts!

Shame he will never get to enjoy the tank he inspired to build.bI will learn and build an even better environment for future tank mates.

Now I have to go tell my daughter :( RIP puffy, as she called him.

Sorry to hear this mate...never any fun losing our fish friends!

That one is going to take a bit to get over, that is a bummer.
