1000G Puffer Display

I going to build a 60 cube in the wife's office and a suspended scape will be done in that on.
I have been looking at a new 280 litre cube with 100 litre sump. Just a bit worried about transfer from old to new. Have some very nice zoa coming next week. On the upside I could use my Rsm130d as a frag tank.more open space would be nice for a full zoa garden.

This is sick

The general rule that I have been seeing is toss the sand except 2.25 kilos to seed the bed. Cycle the new one with the additional rock and the sand with the seed . Once you transfer let is sit and do not mess with the system and add anything to it.

Hmm but I need allot of the rock from the old system to start new out as I won't set the tank that's running now up for a frag tank for a while after. So it won't work just filling new with live sand then transfer all the rock over and livestock and maybe add a bottle or 2 of colony?

Artificial is the plan. I may end up with some soft coral but I want to make sure I have free reign on what fish I want and not be dictated by having coral. I've always had reef tanks before and not been able to have the fish i wanted.

I will have some nems though thats for sure, have a soft spot for them as well!

As I stated to another member yesterday, use your waste water to establish the new tank. Also use the the sand to establish the sand, use a couple of pieces of rock to establish the natural filtration. Look at in simple terms, think of cutting a potato in half to grown another. It is not like you have to make a move quick, this will be a planed move.

That is sick, I always wondered how it would be if that overhang cam out on all sides?!

A nice sand bed can anchor the base. Let say that there is a 48 x 48 base anchored to the base of the rock, which is anchored to the rock covered with sand. That would give the anchor and keep the top weight for toppling. Following?

One of my issues is where I want to put the new tank if I go forward with the plan is exactly where the other tank is now. Also I have an aragonite substrate In my tank currently. I will need to do more reading. Anyways don't want to fill this great thread with my problems I will start a new thread when I decide if the plan will go ahead

I really like this scape also. Dream Aquairum show tank. All branching built off the central overflow. Very cool

Wow that's a surely amazing build wish you good luck.....

beautiful system :D
interesting shop in Bergen, I have to go there, from Oslo is not so a big distance! :D
It's getting there. Takes a while always to get where you want the store to be but progressing nicely. Micheal the owner is a good fella and fair to deal with. There is not a huge amount of choice unfortunately in Norway when it comes to marine stores. I am trying to get a nice collection of zoanthid so I can hopefully increase the interest in Norway

I like nems myself I got rid of all sps so I could get one and waited for the tank to turn 1 year. Defo have a great fish choice without corals. Looking forward to seeing your scape

Great idea just make sure you have a good exhaust fan because I did the same thing and installed a regular bath exhaust fan and that room is always like 100º
