120g Standard Mixed Reef

I haven’t tried it yet, my regal was being a little bit of a jerk when I let him go, so he was a little stressed. But, by the end of the day he picked a couple pieces of mysis from the water column. I don’t doubt he will though, if you put a finger up to the glass he swims right for it lol

I’m going to try hand feeding him today ;)
How cool if he eats right out of your fingers. Mine in QT races to the end of the tank as soon as it sees me in the doorway. I haven't tried hand feeding it. It's not that "tame", but it certainly knows who feeds it. :D

Well, he does eat from my fingers ;)

Unfortunately, the flame wrasse is very tame also and figured it out pretty fast. Once he realized I was offering food, he started chasing the CB away... [emoji31]

Next time, I’ll put some algae on the clip before I feed him... hopefully that will distract the flame lol

Nice, I feed my dwarf fuzzy lion by hand so I get to see how hungry it is. :)

I’m not that brave when it comes to venomous fish lol

But, I love seeing fish that are tame enough to swim right up to your hand like that. My flame wrasse was literally swimming through my fingers earlier. I’ve always known he was personable, but hadn’t interacted with him quite like that.

It was neat, even if he did interrupt my feeding efforts with the new guy. Although, he ended up with a nice round tummy after [emoji12]

Wow, congratulations to @Humblefish
That is a pretty solid delivery and fish treatment.

I wish they could come and tame all of my fish.
That would be a unique service in the reefing community... fish-whisperers.

New addition! Courtesy of @Humblefish ;)

I decided I was done killing these guys in QT (I’ve tried three separate times now, and had yet to get one into my tank) so I went to the fish-whisperer himself.

Of course, I can’t stress enough the attention to detail and concern for the fish’s health... amazing. The most satisfying fish purchase I’ve ever made.

Seriously, where else do you order a “difficult” fish and get this kind of a reassurance? [emoji23]

The regal angel was giving him a hard time for a bit, but seems to be settling now and he’s getting a little more brave and checking out the tank. I’m so pleased with him.

He’s very talented. I feel like I’m pretty decent with QT and tricky fish, but I’ve struggled with these.

And, he sends me this guy [emoji23] His fish skills are unmatched, that’s for sure!

This fish is gorgeous!

Thank you! He really adds to the group, I’m happy I decided to order him!

A little more expensive, but so, so worth it for more delicate fish or someone who doesn’t care to deal with the hassle of QT... but still wants healthy parasite-free fish!

Beautiful fish..I have always loved angels.. One of these years I will Build a setup for them..My dads favorite fish was a blue face angelfish.. I can't count how many times he would ask me to get one..(I did a few times) So I will get a tank for one in his memory..That regal matches your tank though..beautiful

Yea, the regal is about as far as I'm willing to push my luck in a reef tank. But so far, with the initial adjustments of removing the clam and fluffy LPS everyone is behaving pretty well. If my tank was a little bigger, I'd get a genicanthus angel too... and a few tangs. But, for now I'm pretty happy with our little group :)

That would be awesome to have a nice angel tank for your Dad...if my husband did the same we would have to figure out a way to keep a moorish idol, that was his dad's favorite fish. I'm not sure if I'm up to that challenge lol.

Got a little video of the CB eating :) He’s still a bit shy, but definitely getting more bold. I’ve been hand-feeding him 4-5 times a day for now, to try to get some more weight on him.

He’s also getting much more active picking at the rocks, I’m hoping he gets a little taste of aiptasia so I don’t have to keep blasting them every week ;)

Nicely done.

Hi very nice looking tank. You may have heard of, just a note on the Royal (or Emperor) Angelfish, which is somewhat similar in appearance to the nice Regal you have .... once a Royal gets larger (maybe double current size of your Regal fish), they can go rogue ! A fellow reefer i know had a male Royal in his 180g with probably 3 to 4x growth of various corals that you now have - yes it was a stunning tank also. The Royal was one of his first fish in the new tank and it grew up with the tank & corals over several years with no problems of eating coral ..... then one day it had a coral buffet feast and ate everything pratically, consuming several thousand dollars worth of coral in one feeding ! The amazing thing about this guy was that this Royal was also his favorite fish because of the fishes beauty & personality & because this fish grew up with the tank ...... and even after eating most all the corals, the guy still loves his Royal and it is still his favorite fish in his mostly coral bare tank now. Now that's a fish lover !!! Happy Reefing !

Thanks for the warning, I know that it’s definitely a risk... hopefully he behaves but if not, we will cross that bridge when we get there.

I’ve been thinking about him probably needing a larger tank long-term anyway, maybe I’ll set up a FOWLR in my basement eventually ;)
