2.5+ years after the move, now empty...

I had 2 closed loops I used on it before. Main reason is back up power and electric consumption, along with the plumbing and footprint that comes with it. I have the pan world pump for it, but capped it instead. The panworld pump sounds funky running on battery power, even with true sine wave inverter, but mp40 and power heads using drivers or transformers run fine, and have longer running time. This tank is in an industrial space that loses power once in a while so trying to plan for the worst and hope for the best. Gots to keep the footprint of this stuff as small as possible too, I’m running out of room for my poker table lol.

Here’s today. So far everyone’s doing ok. Skimmer smells nice and earthy good now, had smell of die off the first week. Started filling 210 with RO. Hope by next weekend salt added and running to temp.

I found several of these when I destroyed the 125. I know it doesn’t mean much, I don’t have time or means to raise them. I know, doesn’t mean much to many... I’m spinning too many plates lol.
Wow, those are baby giganteas, right? I just saw this thread! It's very exciting, and would love more details! You said you found them on the tips of the adults? Do you have any idea why they're not colored? (Or is that typical?) How big are they? A shame that you can't raise them. Hopefully you will find some more when the new setup gets more established.

They’re likely not colored because they haven’t taken up any zooxanthellae yet. We see this in Acropora too, the early polyps are transparent before they uptake zooxanthellae from the water.

I remember reading from NemGuy that he was trying to breeding gigantea as well and feeding phytoplankton. Maybe someday you can try when your schedule frees up. Hard to do that while running a business though.

I remember your a guitar gear head like me.

Lol, hence the Taylor name lol.

Etc lol.
but no time to play anymore...

I see interesting things with having 7 gigs, all just a little different in some way. A purple I have gets little things that crawl up and down in the tents, it’s gotten loaded with them a few times I’ve noticed in the past few years. From what I see, they can stay inside for a couple months and within a few weeks it loses them all for a while. I can’t get any of them to grow up, I can’t replicate an environment that they will take root before melting, but I can’t micro manage the environment and spent the required time to help.

when I moved these guys 3 years ago, this gig had (3) buds I really wanted to cut off, but didn’t have a spot to care for them. They ranged from 1/2” to 2” on the under side of the disc. They aren’t there anymore. I’ve seen a couple appear here and there. Like this one. Just appeared this week. I don’t have a place to raise it, or the time to get one prepared. It’s hanging on by a snot string and I could easily pick it off the disc. You can see tent size is giant on the tiny thing hanging on compared to the rest of the disc.

if I only had time to play all day. Lol.

these I think they call buds. But the things I’ve played with the last couple years aren’t buds.

If I was to pull this off, it would need a good seasoned environment to grow a foot. Looks to have a center dot or mouth though. I just don’t have a spot to put it so it probably will be gone in a couple days.

but good side, 210 is filled with water, pump running, and started adding salt today. :)

The gigs have been gathered between 2013 and 2015/2016?... 210 was bought in 2008? Maybe? Just resealed and re plumbed, and filling it for “ding ding”... round 2 reef life. I have too much I’ve collected and either need to “s**t, or get off the toilet” .

The tank the gigs are currently in Is a set up from a month ago. All new water with aged rock. Had to move because 125 brace cracked and needed a new tank. I had an existing 210 I’m bringing back to life. Don’t try it, unless you have experience and resources to pull it off. I’m seasoned, and let me say, keeping them happy is NOT easy.

Keep up the good work -- I know it's been hard. But your gigs are worth it! I don't think I could ever part with my gigs. I'm glad you averted disaster and all of yours made it.

Awesome collection. I'm a Martin dreadnaught guy myself. But sure love the Fender electrics.

I recall you had a dark sump before. Are you planning to add that back in?

No, I’m not adding the remote 20 gallon DSB. I honestly didn’t see any benefit after several years other than just a little bit more volume. I’ve got it filled, up to temp, and first victims put in today. I had (2) 20 longs temp housing for rocks and a couple easy little corals. They were starting to fall apart because of lack of care, sg was up to 31 lol so I moved them over today to get the 210 cycle started. Gigs are happy so I might give it some time before I put the gigs in the 210, but I’ll see how things go. Here’s some pics of where things are today.

here’s the (2) 20 longs I emptied today. Skimmer was on left and rocks were on right. Now emptied.

Here’s 210 with (2) 40 breeders under. Up and running now.
