180 refugium will sit on top shelf....looking for tank for this...should I filter water before refugium?

After having a catfish myself in captivity, I can say that catfish should not be kept in captivity long term. Their natural food source is just not there. It's hard to breed birds and mice to meet the demand, if not impossible. The potential for them to eat smaller fish is very great. I personally haven't tried a monkeyfish, but yours seems to be doing well.

All jokes aside, I'm very much looking forward to this build!
I have added 15-20 blue tangs per week....cat fish is happy with that.
Monkey fish likes banana fish!

The addition of banana fish as food source have elevated my nitrates:(

But monkey fish has doubled her size and has bred with cat fish to produce first camoky fish,,,ever raised in captivity!

I'm not sure why banana fish needed to steal show???

But have you ever seen a nicer comonky fish!

Really ...few pages back ...I have some good questions...please help with those.

Good Day!
Need a little help from you experts.
Plumbing over flow down to equipment room in basement....2.... 2 inch drains in external over flow box.
One I will plumb with valve to create full syphon...safety will just be 2 inch pipe to maximum water height to run at slow trickle and incase other one plugs.
Can I tie these together before dropping to basement equipment room?
Bump

Another question...going to need power for equipment around the room.
What is best way to do that?
Main breaker panel for house is in that room.
Pics from your equipment rooms would be much appreciated!!!!!
Bump

ok ???? you guys know why I should not twin these two lines...but no comment:(((
Just because I have brain fart and cant figure it out..im left ...abandoned...like leftovers....like a bad meal at a bad restaurant:(
Like a fat girl at a pool party:(
Like a gay guy at a straight bar:(
Like a fish covered with ick at your LFS:(!

I know cheep return pump:(
But for the same price as fancy one I have 2 spare ones on hand:)))

Ok...looks like I'm building this tank all by my self!!!
NP...bin there ...done that...can do it again:)))
But I'm going to bore you all with the gory details!!!

Just read through this and I'm looking forward to seeing your large refug in place. This is the same kind if thing I was thinking with my new 220 build.
For the plumbing, I would run the drain and backup into the same pipe...leave them separate. Have the backup/emergency drain empty out into the same space as your return pump...heck, right beside it. This will cause a large amount if bubbles to return into your DT indicating a problem with your main drain.

Thank you Sir:)!
I am assuming you meant...."I would"NOT" run the drain and backup into same pipe"
And that's a great idea...never thought about the bubbles being created in main display:))))
