Well it's been a while sense I've made a tank thread here on R2R. Here was my last build thread
https://www.reef2reef.com/index.php?threads/The-Mac's-180-nem-tank.100818/
Well a little over a year ago I upgraded the 180 to a 300. Funny thing I wasn't even in the market to upgrade when this tank feel into my lap. A buddy of mine had hit me up and asked if I was interested in a 300. I told him naw my 180 is doing so great I really don't want to mess with it. He was like really u wouldn't want to upgrade. Not really. Well the thought crossed my mind but I really didn't want to. Well he gave me an unbeatable price on a used 300. The price was so good it was practically free. I couldn't pass it up. The tank sat on my living room floor empty for half a year while I made a stand.
Well I finally was able to get the stand done and in one weekend I did a tank swap. I have a spare 155 that I keep for emergency. I set it up and transferee everything into the 155. Then I save as much of the water I could (without getting detritus). Then overnight I filled the tank up the rest of the way and warmed the water with heaters.

The next day I put the live stock into the 300

Over the year I really haven't done much to the tank other then add 2 more radions and now it's mostly sps. I do still have the 5 tangs plus one more that I didn't have in the 180.
Currently equipment
5 radion gen 1s with reeflink
2 itech 200 skimmers(but only one is running)
ATS 17"X14"
DIY calcium reactor made out of an old coralve reactor
55 watt UV sterilizer
Reeflo blackfin 3600 is my return pump
2 maxspect xf150 gyres
2 jebao wp25(but there dead and I've be to lazy to take them out)
That's pretty much it, I don't run gfo or carbon so no reactors for that
So my current fish list is
Sohal tang
Purple tang
Blue tang
Yellow tang
Clown tang
Saifin tang
Copperband butterfly
Pair of gold band maroons clownfish
Picasso clownfish
3 yellow chromusis (spawning)
2 blue/green chromusis
Lawnmower blenny
4 lined wrasse
6 lined wrasse
Female mandarin goby
Some type of bass fish 3 of them
Blood red fire shrimp
And a bunch of cuc.
I still have the large ritteri anemone and a few bubble tips. Not much lps but lots of bs zoas. My main love has always been sps I can't see my self spending big bucks on the designer corals so what I have is your everyday sps but I still love the look of them.
Here's the tank as of 9/27/15

Lol that was the plan. But here I am a year later and haven't. The stand is skinned but I still need to make doors. I've made to sets of doors but didn't like them. So I've I've been fighting ideas on how I want the doors to look. Lately I've been thinking slated doors kinda like blinds where I can open and close them for ventilation and have them claps to the side. I hate doors that get in the way while your doing maintenance. So I've been trying door that claps in or hide away. If anything just pull off doors that are held in place by magnets or something. I have a vacation coming up in October so I'm planning to get a few things done. Im really shooting for a canopy

Here's a few growth pics from that last few months

Wow, really nice tank. I am in the process of starting a new tank as well. I am setting up a 150g to replace my 65g. Like you this tank was so good I could not pass it up. I just got my new lights and I am going to set it upin three layers. Top hard corals, mid softies, bottom clams and plates.
