300 gallon peninsula

Thank you everyone. The live stock looks ok to me, other then the red turf algae I'm battling. But the tank it's self still needs a lot of work. I need to build a canopy, put doors on the stand , and put a few other things on it.
Sick tank, what do u feed your CBB?
I got it for an aphasia problem I was having. I had thousands of aptasaia sin the tank. When I first got the CBB it eat all the tub worms first but did show a slight interest in brine and mysis. But it wouldn't touch the darn aptasias. Then about 3 weeks after getting it I noticed a rock that had been covered in aptasias was picked clean. The CBB had literally cleaned the whole tank in a mater of days. With in a month of having him I had him eating frozen brine and mysis with no problems. I've tried half clam shells but he only eat them if I shove the shell in a tight crevasse. But the CBB is just as good as an eater as my tangs r. It drives me nut that he know associates me with food. Every time I step up to the tank the fish swarm like sharks like I'm going to feed them.

It's funny you mention them watching you. We had a 6 footer against a wall. Every time we approached they would al hide , it was worse when new people came over. We now have a 380g peninsular & the fish don't hide anymore. They are confident & all hand feeding. I personally think a peninsular in a high traffic area has done wonders for the confidence of the fish. It's great. Very interesting your fish are acting the same.

So I got an itch under my skin when people on Facebook were talking smack about how my tank doesn't have a canopy and how my light rack is pretty ghetto fab.
Well I made doors that I'm happy with

just need to add the trimmings and stain. Plus I framed the canopy.

Stained everything

Now I'm just waiting for it to dry.

Looking really nice. But I wouldn't bow to pressure. We have an " open top ". Can't imagine ever having a canopy , wouldn't be 1 day our hands aren't in the tank. Removing that every time I needed to get in there would drive me nuts !!!

It will have doors on the canopy. But in reality I hate putting my hands in the tank. I try my hardest to not get my hands wet. I've heard years back that the oils in your skin or lotions can do some damage to corals health. It my just be super stiction but still I just don't like getting my hands wet all the time.

Nice!

Very nice tank. I like the look of your doors a lot. how are you attaching them? I am working on setting up a 300 myself at the moment. Why is it that no manufacturer can build a trully sealed magnete? I have bad one from 6 different companies, very frustrating!

Was curious what you are running your radions at. Love the look of the color of the corals, maybe the pvc hanger had something to do with it ?
