35 to 125 gallon upgrade build

Upgrading my 35 to 125 gallon. This build will take longer as my first one was out together fairly quickly. It's running smoothly but i could've done better. Transferring only fish,live rock and corals.

Cut the overflow hole. Grabbed a skimmer and just built a stand. Hopefully this stand is built right and can hold this tank. Also grabbed a cor20 for return pump.

Hey, so I have a question on your overflow.

For a 125 gallon and using that overflow what is your target turnover rate and will that one provide enough? I am still in the learning and research phase and it's something I recently learned about when running your plumbing.

People say try going for 10x turnover i ain't listening to that. There's others I seen go for 3-5x. This one does 800 gph. But once you get gate valves and everything going who knows

So i dry plumbed everything make sure everything is ok. Got the gate valve and tuned it. Things are alot quieter. I went with a Cor20 return pump. I'm not done with plumbing as I'm deciding on making manifold so i can put media reactor and maybe UV in the future. I gotta sheet the outside as my girl doesn't want the tank upstairs looking like a project lol.

looks like you swapped the 2x4s for 2x6s
your tank fits very snugly on that stand. did you put anything between the 2x6's and the tank like a piece of plywood ?

Finally upstairs with some water. A bit of a small leak drained water a bit to put silicone in those areas we'll see tomorrow.

Cleaning things up with small touches. I have to transfer rocks and get a few more lbs to put into the tank and hang lights. I have to hurry up as my 35 gallon can't go longer. I've lost about 3 pieces of corals due to very high nitrates from not doing WC.

Only thing stopping me is a minor leak that's driving me crazy from the overflow box. I silicone the box,basket, bulkhead. Let's see if this stops the leak.

Finally done with everything tanks running 35 is done. I need i get some more lights but the tank is currently running.I never really cleaned my sand and after moving rocks look at the amounts of detritus.

We've come a long ways but we've also ran into some issues. Currently fallow lost all fish due to no qt and I'm assuming velvet. But setting up qt and all fish going on there before hitting the display

Running on reef moonshine. I couldn't keep sps for anything. Now I dose trace elements. Lps we're also given to me for free. Nice score a bit beaten up but they'll recover
