40 gallon rimless lagoon with waterfall

How long do you want to wait until you start adding livestock? Will you start out with fish or coral to begin?

I am still going through a diatom bloom so I will let that die off and then test parameters again. when everything looks good, I'll be slowly adding in corals and fish simultaneously.

Cool concept, looking forward to seeing what you do with it! The stand looks nice, lots of ledge space for hanging around with a beer!

Diatom bloom is almost finished. Turned off the lights for a few days to help the algae control until the cycle is complete. Also kicked on the skimmer and it is pulling a good amount already

Here is a picture of the tank with the lights off. Also a close-up pic of the skimmate this bubble Magnus is pulling in 1 day.

Here are a few pics of the frag rack that is holding my "ready to be transferred" corals to the new tank. Also some random pics of my corals in my other reef tank.
I am getting ready to make a buy for some red mangroves to add to the tank, and also a block of Marinepure filter into the refugium area of the sump. I have decided instead of doing a refugium, I will be adding that Marinepure block and also a frag rack along with a small power head and grow light to be able to have a small sized frag tank section.

Very cool concept! Love the stand and waterfall. Any chance of getting a video to see the waterfall in action?
Thanks a lot! I actually have a few updates including an older video but for some reason was having issues uploading it. Let me see if I can try it again.

These videos were taken when I first added water so I apologize about the water being hazy. I also added a few more rocks and moved some rock around to give it a more hidden and natural look for the tubing. I will take some updated pics and vids tonight when I get home. I need to check parameters again, do a good water change and I should be ready to start moving some things over! This tank needs some color and life now!

You mentioned fish suggestions. How about :
Group of Catalina Gobies?
Or other small schooling or grouping goby?
Set up is very nice. Really like the right side table looking rock.

I also added some small 1/4" diameter tubing into the siphon drain to make the gurgling sound go away. It is now perfectly silent with the exception of the waterfall sound which is what I was shooting for. Here is another quick video of the entire tank.

Tthe Catalina Goby is a cold-water species so that wouldn't be able to work. I was thinking about a small school of blue/green chromis but I am working with limited space. I was trying to think about some fish who are mostly found in lagoon style settings. I might add a goby though.

Thanks, that rock was super easy to make with a dremel and 100% silicone.

That is way too cool. Thanks for posting the vid.
You can find tank raised catalinas that do well in warmer reef tank water. I know my LFS was carrying them for a while in socal.
