90 gal update finally!

Anthias do the same thing. It's a risk either way. It's just easier to lose a $7 fish over a $50 one.

Technically u can add as many fish as you can keep up with nutrient levels. Of course u need space for all those fish to swim and hide. So def u can just add the wrasse to the list.

It's not that it will affect the wrasse. It's a matter of would you prefer 3 chromis or a sick wrasse. I don't really like chromis so having them in a tank to me is having some fish taking up space adding bio load that a nicer fish can use.

I was sorta bored today and had some acrylic laying around so i made a specimen container for fish to acclimate in!

Nice! Good job. You will want a lid for that too though. And you should drill some holes in the sides for flow thru it.

Typed from my phone, because I have nothing better to do.

i can add a lid to it, i have more acrylic! but why put holes in it? wouldnt that defeat the purpose of acclimating fish in it?

I think the holes kind of depend on how exactly you plan to use it. I could see the holes being a good idea if you were planning on it hanging inside of the tank while acclimating.

Chris is talking about community acclimation. Acclimating the fish to the rest of the fishes in you display.

ok yea i was not thinking about that! good idea! you think just a few drill holes in the sides?

Yes, that's what I was referring to. More like acclimating your fish to the other fish, not so much to the water. But you can do one with holes, and then build another without.

I wouldn't worry to much about Ph until you're done cycling. It should come up on its own when the cycles complete.

My ph stays steady at 7.8 and the tank finished cycling in Dec. I have a light on my sump/fuge at night but i also can't bring it up. All my perm are perfect except ph. I tried to raise it with a buffer... sent everything off balance and killed a few corals :-( So how does one raise it without this happening and keep it there?
