A Home For Oysters and Odd Couples

And now that I look at Google images of mandarins it looks like most of their gills flare a bit like that....maybe I'm being paranoid.

Just found my hitchhiker "blasto" is actually a lobo :P guess I need to adjust my fmv a tad. Everyone is doing well, clowns are enjoying their vacation home, no visible signs of brook left. Peppermint molted last night, mandarin (Trevor) seems to be enjoying having the tank to herself. Cyano came back when I switched the light cycle back on so looking into other means, might need to get my water double tested as I can't find any levels that would cause it. Think that's about it! Here's a cute cat with a clown to brighten your Monday :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE kitty with nemo plush toy. So cute!

Is that "HH" on the live rock from the gulf? If so, that is not a lobo, it is a brain coral.

It is! The ID keeps changing, everyone was posting frags of lobos that looked exactly like mine >_> brain coral works though! Even cooler :)

Some fun shots tonight :)

Pseudo fts, gotta clean the glass. Cool pic of the new lime green sponge thing that has clear tunicate looking mouths coming out of it. And random limpet!

Very cool little aquarium. I love the divider!!
The coral that came attached to you live rock (the one you thought was a blasto) is actually a species Rose Coral (Manicina areolata).

The whitish/tan corals with long (clear or white) tentacles are Hidden Cup Corals (Phyllangia americana)

Thanks for sharing pictures!!

~Michael

Thank you! I have species IDS for everything already :) Metrokat nailed my brain, and the colonial ones are cladocora arbuscula, though I have a ton of hidden cups as well :) i do have two roses, but that is not one
(Edit - in hindsight, the nailed my brain part sounds a bit violent lol)

Post water change (hence angry goni) shots :) my mandarin (Trevor) likes to make cute faces for me to take pictures of. Found what appears to be a chiton, but never seen a red one. Still working on that :) I got rid of the fuge/isolation divider today to prepare for next Friday's arrivals (not dt so I think that's ok, won't post pics here) and realized I'm having a major feather duster outbreak :P at least 6 good sized ones in my chaeto alone. Lots of sponge growth this week as well, very happy that the pretty grid like red one that died off during the cycle is growing back.

So updated fts :) I just did a water change so not great but you can at least see the new layout! Hermit crabs being odd, and the brain being poofy.

Thanks :) it was originally to divide the tank to be display, isolation, and fuge, but I switched to a hang on back fuge and cut out the side divider to make a grow out section for my new pair of clowns :)
