Can't get my Eshopps Eclipse overflow box to drain correctly for the life of me. It's either extremely loud, or it's surging. So very frustrated. Any help from anyone who can walk me through it would be appreciated.

Hey lets get a photo!

Never mind, gave up already
They can be made to work, we just need a bit more info. The most useful would be if you have a 2 hole or 3 hole model and what kind of drain system you are trying to implement.

Just set one up a couple months ago if you need help, Had a hard time as well and even ripped a gasket and had to drain tank to reinstall lol

3 hole system. Eshopps eclipse overflow large. Return pump, eflux 1907gph.
Are you going for a bean animal setup up? One with a full siphon, one with a partial drain, and the other an emergency?

I have no clue. I just want it to be quiet and keep the water level even with my tanks border. Thought I had it all figured out but I'm just really bummed out

Too much flow more than likely. Turn it down and see if that helps.

Anywhere between [Tank Volume x 2] and [Tank Volume x 4] should be sufficient. More than that is know to cause problems like you're reporting.

Can you post a pic of your setup, including the drain plumbing?

We will get you there.

Do you have a valve installed on each of the 2 non-emergency drain lines?

two big things to get it quite are making sure the lines that go down in the sump are submerged under water enough and buy elbows to make upside down U's in the box and only one is supposed to have a hole in the top. I think its the secondary half-siphon. Takes tweaking but hey if I can do it lol

No valves. The lines are glued and not easily accessible other than the overflow box.

I don't understand how it can be too much flow, if it's not even at the top of my tank

That is your problem. You need to have some way to adjust flow in either 1 or in both non-emergency drains to get a quiet system.
