Acro idea

Typically RTN and STN occur when acros get stressed (i.e huge alk swing or light changes).

I think you’d be better off just letting those acros ride out whatever necrosis they’re going through than fragging them and stressing them out more.

This is anecdotal, but I’ve found doing several large serial water changes with salinity, alkalinity and temp matched water sometimes halts and reverses systemic acro death (I.e when all the acros in a system all of sudden to go ****). I attribute the improvement to diluting out any possible contaminants.

What job was he “employed” to do and where is “home”?

DUH!!! He was employed to kick the crap out of the Dory tang that was a jerk before! Now that he’s been put in his place and hiding out, I can move the Yellow to my 40 where I’ve got some other victims for him to straighten out ;) :D;Blackeye.

Better watch it... Tang Police is on this thread..

So, cutting through everything. I think blaming nitrates or phosphates for your stn is open for debate. Personally, I think they may change the color, but RTN is unlikely.

From reading this thread, you changed to your own RODI system and then had RTN.

Are you testing your RODI water? I have chloramine in my city water and use a HM Digital COM-100 to test my RODI. I change filters whenever it gets above 0.0ppm.

Other problem with SPS is that their is a time delay: bottom out phosphates, won’t show issues at first, fix it, still will have stn for days or weeks.

Good luck.
