Oh wow I see Picci you already posted 2" for 2 years, thats incredible. Very natural looking coloration, A+. You really don't see many people growing them out to look so natural these days, a lot of them are skinny branched and solid, monotone colors.

I've heard spathulata is extremely difficult acro to keep. It lives in very shallow water where it gets a ton of light. Some say metal halides are the key for success as it gives broader spectrum range, including ultraviolet and infrared, which currently available LEDs can't offer. Some say, with LEDs, the beautiful gradation of its tips would be lost, and the coloration becomes flat. Is it true or false?

Looks like it's thriving nicely. The color gradation on the tips doesn't look as strong as others, though. Maybe, it's just an individual difference.

Beautiful frag. I think what makes spathulata so special is its shifting color on the branch tips. It seems the degree of color gradation differs piece to piece.
