What’s next a reptile section also?

Voted yes, but let me make a proposal.

It seems this is becoming very complicated. While I would love a fresh side, I think if we DO add anything fresh it should just be for tank builds. That would make things easier. There are other forums out there for fresh and for mixed communities. I love coming here and reading everything, but the builds here is what holds my attention. Therefore, instead of having a section with mods, squads, etc. how about just a section of members tanks, dedicated to fresh builds? I think we have been trying to make this just way over complicated.

What you are really asking is if I care if someone makes a freshwater forum I don't have to look at.

Why would I care?

I think a lot of us reef keepers have fresh water too, I think it would be nice, heck even if we had a small section for user freshwater, like so we could show off our planted tanks and reefs

Can't really say I like the idea...seems like it would clutter things up. Plus, with noobs being noobs (former noob here) I can see me reading a long "Emergency! My Tank Has Ich!" post only to realize at the end it's in a goldfish tank and posted in the wrong section....

I voted yes because I have both. Reef tank is 3+ years and the planted tank is 7 weeks, the reef is my baby though at this time. I am a plant person and my planted is already beautiful and I haven't had the large learning curve that I had with reef. The reef is my favorite child.

This might be too simple of a solution but why don't you start your own freshwater forum? This largely seems drive by a single persons desire with a small fraction agreeing, and a slightly larger fraction being indifferent. An even larger portion wanting no part of it. Looking at this from both a business perspective and a personal one I personally would not see this as a good idea.

Yeah personally I don't want to see freshwater but I also don't see how it makes sense for R2R from a risk / reward point of view not my own.

There were two "Pro" questions and one against- kind of misleading. Typically the middle option would be "indifferent". I read it as 17% want it, 33% dont care, 50% dont want it.

I wish I would of thought about this back when i was passing notes to little girls in middle school.

Do you like me check:
Yes
Sure you seem cool
No

lol exactly. Leading the question.

I think most forget that we indeed had a FW section at one time, didn't have much traction before, perhaps its time for that change again, helping people out is why we are all here, and besides, you don't have to look in the FW threads if you don't want to.

Well, I finally read ALL of the posts. I had voted yes, but I think I'd like to change my vote (can't figure out how to do it). All this talk of moderators, "freshsquad", subforums, sponsors, etc... has me a little worried. As I said before, R2R is a reef/SW community, and should stay that way. I guess I was just envisioning a small section where our WF enthusiasts could get together. I hadn't considered it becoming a significant addition to the site. Anything that might tend to increase the complexity or dilute the purity of our reefing community is not an option in my book.

On the other hand, if there was ever a FW sister site with the same policies, format, and awesome membership, I would be the first to sign up.
To change your vote ill edit the poll setting right now

I made it as yo either really want it or you are fine with it or you really don’t want it.

I see that as either you want it, or you don’t want it. So it’s currently 17% versus 50%. “Fine” implies indifferent, so should not be attributed to the pro option.
Hmmm didn’t think about like that. I still see it as top two are you want and bottom is no
