i have a 300 gallon system. the peroxide bombs even at 1ml per gallon worked initially but they would come back due to peroxide's half life being so short.

in the end 2ml per hour on a doser for 2 months ended them.

i guess convert from your tank but the usefulness of peroxide fails after a few hours. the idea is to do a steady injection over time rather than a nuke to next week.

blue lights only also slows growth.

i guess the conversion would be
1ml per hour on a 150 gallons system
1ml per 2 hours on a 75 gallon
1ml per 3 or 4 hours on a 40 gallon - this may lose effectiveness

make sure the peroxide is sealed to the dose line

Thanks for the reply Russ265. So here is what I've done for now swapped out coral+ bulbs with old blue+ bulbs, sealed the hose going into the peroxide and start dosing 1.1ml 7 times a day. total water volume of my system is about 48g.

What kind of water are you making your salt with?
What kind of flow do you have?
What is your current setup? Lighting, Skimmer, etc....
What you have will choke off your zoo's or any other corals if you don't correct the issue.

40b with 20g sump/fuge. RO/DI with 0 TDS, SCA 301
Skimmer. For flow l have 1mp10 and 2 Jebao rw4. Lighting ATI Dimmable 4 bulb fixture with a Reefbrite strip. Tank parameters are Ca 430, Alk 8, Mg 1380, No3 2-4, Po4 .00. Test kits used Red Sea, nyos, salifert and Hanna. I know that this is a problem that needs to be taken care of. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks

Perhaps use a turkey baster and try to blast it off of your rock work.. I remember I had a similar issue when I started reefing

Not no any rock only sand bead. I can siphon it all out but it just returns. i've tried everything I can find online. I'm thinking about removing all the sand and adding new.

so.
if you had dinos then you would see that your returns are the first place it shows up and the last place it dies back.

problem is it is closest to the light and has a lot of flow. increased flow generally thickens those strands in to a thick gooey rope. at night they become free floating until light comes back on when they begin to clump and bubble again.

if you truly had dinos, flow never eradicated them. just spread them somewhere else.

considering they drop to the sand and last for months before suitable hatching conditions allow them to thrive again, i am confident flow never killed this kind of plague.

My tank has a lot of flow. These things are growing where I have some of the most flow. all the research I've done on Dinoflagellate flow will not effect them. @Russ265 did you siphon your tank when you had dinos?

i did.

but i left the sand under the rock.
sand was rinsed in tap water

i think blue+ is too light a blue tbh. i went way darker and very little light. yes it effects sps, but i believe an experiment was done with acros where they had 3 tanks.

one no light and feeding, one light with no feeding, and a control.

the one with no light and feeding lived through the experiment, the light with no feeding did not

okay guys so i did a 5 days blackout and have been dosing H202 since the beginning every 12 hours. i took the tarp off the tank and let it sit with ambient light for 2 more days. then i turn just the blues on for 1 day and now im allowing 2 hours of white lights on during the day. the problem i have is now i am extremely paranoid and i see what i hope are diatoms. a part of me says they arent diatoms they are beginning stages of new dino outbreak. how will i know if i should continue to increase my light or keep my lights to a minimum until im sure its not dino returning.

bend your knees and look at your returns at a 45 degree angle up toward the light. do you see bubbles forming?

do the same with the rock work. put your eyes just below the rock you are inspecting and angle your head 45 degrees up. see bubbles on the rock?

I found getting my PH up has been beneficial also. I used Reef bufffer. Again this is my first go around but I am still dosing withH2O2 and no relapse of Dino yet. Knocking on wood
