OMG this version worked so much better than the whatever one I was told to download when I got the light. I can finally use this app on my phone running the latest android version and updated my old phone to the lastest version as well.AliExpress A8SE Reef Light

Another "special feature" I found out is I could log in using my email on both phones, upload my settings on the phone phone to my account, and download the same setting to my old phone, skipping the need of searching the lights on my new phone.
One thing that is still broken is the inability to synchronize the setting between lights if you have them linked. Sending a program to one light will always be screwed up on the other. I still have to control both lights separately which isnt a huge problem since I only have 2 lights, but would be an issue for some of they have multiple over their tanks.

How sure can we be about the comparrison with the real radions?

Yes, and actually, one that spent USD1000 in 1 module will have a great difficult to accept that its almost the same.

I think another thought too is the lack of US based customer support and, based on hunch only, if any US retailers were caught selling this along side the Radions, they’d likely lose their Ecotech “contract” or “agreement” or whatever to sell Radion and likely other Ecotech products

1. Ppl dont like to pay for blatant copies from China. They think that they are helping in some way by buying from name brands but they dont know how large of a profit margin is on these things and how much corporations earn from it.
2. People think the R&D that went into developing the software and hardware and determining the correct color temp and LED chip along is "worth" the 1000 per unit
3. Mobius connection, or the ability of linking it with any controller
4. The "real deal" would always be better. Dont want to chance it with my thousands of dollars in corals and fish.

Help please. I know someone had translated the manual, and others figured out programming. I received my first a8s yesterday.
I'm having issues with connecting to the wifi. If my understanding is right I connect my pH or pad to the lights wifi? I get it to connect to the directly to the light but not through wifi.
I can make a program schedule, but it won't save and run it.
I did the time correction, but then there's a list of time zones I found as well. Any and all help is appreciated.
I did switch my pH to 2.4g and also to a 2.4 extension router I use as well. Still no luck. Android ph and pad if that is important.

I found the network password cannot have special characters or at least it doesn’t work with ! in the password.

Ok I'm not sure if I'm screwing up or not.
First step I did is switch ph to the lights wifi.
Then I choose my 2.4 setting for my router.
Next I put in the password, letters and numbers ( factory)
Hit connect. Box with circle appears then will show and x and says connection fail.
It will give me the option to direct connect, in that mode I can put it on ab+ or manual I modified ab and saved it but then the lights went off tried using the time zone set and time zone drop bown list, could not figure out what one to put it on.
If I put it on ab and use the drop down time zones and set it at 08:00 the light came back on but I don't know what setting it's at in time of day. I got it to come on with 0800 but current time was 1850.

i had a field day trying to connect the lights through my wifi the first time. I ended up resetting the lights a few times, trying a few phones before it all worked.
What I remember is you first go into the app and you hit the + on the top right corner and it tells you to connect your device to the lights wifi. After you find the lights wifi and connected to it, it will ask you if you want to direct link to it. I just say no, then it will ask you to find your home's wifi to connect to. After that it SHOULD work, and asks you to assign a name and group to it.
