I really need to get a PAR meter or go rent one. I have mine running at about 50% per the little slide bar. But I also have the aquaticlife 4 bulb T5 fixture with it. So both of them running might be cooking everything.

At those intensities u will hear fan noise.. also theres no thermalpaste between the led board and the heatsink, putting paste between them could very well make them less noisy

Scroll back a few pages, I measured the par reading on my 100g system with 2 X30 (blue version of the A8) mounted 8" above the water

Filling any new tanks yet?! Every few weeks this thread comes up on my feed and I remember you were waiting on a few and I get excited for you lol Shipping this week, had a delay but they compensated me. Ill let ya know :)

I upgraded the lens and ran another test without adjusting the intensity of the light. The lens basically doubled the par readings in my tank. Ive dialed back the intensity of the light, raised the light to 10" above the water and able to get good par numbers while running the light at around 50-60% power.

This last pacth messed up with my lights. Anyone know how to reset them? The manual said something about turning them on and off for 3 seconds/3 times.

I have a mixed reef with a lot of acropora that currently is lit by a hodgepodge of 2 xr15, 1 60cm reefbreeders photon v2, one kessil 160 and one moon led.

But i am going to take the xr15s and move them to an lps tank and the idea is to use 4 A8 and one A7 for this tank with the fifth A8 being a spare.

I thought I would share how I am running mine. As you can see in the pictures I have 4 T5’s going with my A8 pro I. The middle of them. So far so good with no problems.
