I thought I would share how I am running mine. As you can see in the pictures I have 4 T5’s going with my A8 pro I. The middle of them. So far so good with no problems.

Yeah my T5's are only running for 5 hours and the A8 pro is only at 50% on the AB+ pre program in the app. I cooked a few SPS at first because I had it at 85% and the T5's were running 8 hours.

Please help! Very frustrated with these lights. I can't seem to set the timing on/off time. Im west coast pacific time utc +8, and whenever I try and set the timing on to open at 8am and close at 11pm the lights turn off. I'm stumped

You have to save your time zone. You are the same as me so here are a couple of screenshots. This is under your profile page or the ME button at the bottom.

I just changed it to utc +7 but whenever i try select 8:00 open time and 23:00 close time, and click save, my lights all turn off.

So im on holliday in spain… got apex message tank too warm…. Turns out 1 of the 4 lights again got alzheimer and forgot the time…

Good i have a tank sitter that switched it off now.. but its getting to the point im starting to lose my ****…

4 lights, 1 with issues keeping time..guess its gonna have to do another 2 weeks with 3…

Yeah i have 4x80watt t5 aswell on it and doing basically the same.. running them 5 hours a day and on 50% ab+, i bumped up the white channel a bit and extended the ramp-down time to have longer even fluo period.

The light for the price is solid! Especially a8se the cheapest one.. just wish the controller was little bit more reliable

Did you do your utc change in the 2x place ?
Or have you try direct link ?

Direct link seems more reliable.
Yes changed utc timezone in 2 places on the app also did the ios update couple of days ago, wich turned alot of english back to chinese somehow

3 are fine, just checked, they all play nicely

I think the one with issue just has a hardware fault

Small positive note…
Since changing from philips coralcare to the a8 my alk uptake has almost doubled. Not everything is because of just the lights.. tank s maturing, frags start growing bases , calcium algues.. but.. they grow coral like mad

What motivate you to change to A8? Yours are led cree or A8SE?

Have you opened it up and changed the battery CR1220? Not sure if it's used to hold time but if I had to guess that's what it is for.

I have both..
I own 4x a8se the cheapest china ones
And i own 1 a8S , cree leds and meanwell psu..

Reasons.. i got 1 a8se defective from factory, wich was handled beautifully from the factory and they sent replacement led boards without any issue, so the after sales has been great (funtronics on alibaba)

So i had 3 working.. then i talked to a big local shop that sometimes sells dropship goodies, and he offered me the only one he had, for 100€.. so he sent that and it turned out to be the a8s (cree/meanwell + x bracket and tank bracket)

Par wise.. or even colour, u cant see the difference.. the meanwell brick is very nice, dont really care about the cree leds itself as they look and measure similar to the chinese ones..

I use my last "cheap chineese part" for 8 years... (evergrow led)

now 1x A8's since about 1 years. (Cree/MW)
