ALK drop, why?

Still early I know but I'm pleased to report that, after dosing 15ml @7.5ml 2xdaily my ALK has been holding steady @9.2 & Ca@420 Ph @8.1 @8a.m. [email protected]

For the first time since setting it up (18 weeks ago) I've not done the 10g bi-weekly WC. Mainly because my tank looks so dang good.

Update: Still going strong! Even after a 10g WC. That had me worried about throwing levels off, but nope it didn't.

Mag=1440
Temp=80.4
PH=8.0-8.2 am to pm

Spoke to soon-lol. Mornings test and my ALK was 8.4 once again. Should I bump up the dose from 15ml each to 20?

I'd wait another day or two to be sure of the trend. There's nothing wrong with 8 dkH and the drop might just be testing variability.

Randy-Does it really matter what time of day I dose? My personal schedule gets kind of funky and without a doser sometimes I fail/miss the regular morning dosing.

Depends a bit on what you dose and how much, but generally timing isn't important unless it is a high pH additive and you dose a lot, in which case early AM is best (or spreading it out over more than 1 dose) to avoid too high of a pH.

Just dosing equal parts of ca/alk. Amount of each is minimal. No ph swings at all.

Update: After 2wks of dosing 7.5ml 2x daily of 2prt, I saw a slight drop by morning. So I upped it to 8ml 2x daily and this is definitely the sweet dose

Parameters couldn't be more stable through manual dosing.
ALK=8.4
Ca=430
Mag=1440
PH=8.0-8.2
Temp=79.9
I'm very pleased

Ok something doesn't seem right. I am now dosing 20ml daily. 10ml 2x 12hrs apart. Every morning I test dkh, every morning it reads the same, 8.4.
Shouldn't my ALK have risen by now? A least a little?
