Anemic Anemone ?

Mine have been doing the same thing. I have 3 right now, which I now feel was 1 too many but besides that. The first two did the same thing and are now fine but this newest one looks dead half the time and then bounces back. It does this about twice a day. Seems like every time that I'm on the edge of pulling it out of the tank he bounces back and looks fine.

I'd give it more time.

That looks like acclimation. If it was dead or close to dying, you would have a nasty smell to the tank, as well as it would be turning to mush. You could literally try to pick it up and it would melt in ur hand. Ussualy emits a lot of stringy white coming out of the mouth. Urs seems fine to me. I would definitely give it more time.

Ok awesome and thanks for the bit of good news. And I've been giving my tank a sniff test every time he looks like this lol

Fts. And one of nem. Daughter ssid it was looking better this morning. Although back to previous picture state, still better than last night. I almost pulled it last night but daughter said not yet. Strings seem to be coming from foot and not out of mouth so maybe still hope.

From the foot? Does it look like it's melting? If you can can you feel the foot? It will stress a bit from it but it will help determine how the foot feels.

From more observation of the pic it doesn't look good. It is holding in place correct? Looks like tentacles are missing...

I trust your judgement domination. Is it a goner?
Well,
Foot pealing off,
Mouth gaping,
Looks like the foot is kind of starting to come apart,
A lot of people would tell you not to feed it. I would suggest feeding it, my reasoning behind this is that the tentacles aren't out, making its not getting the photosynthesis it needs to be healthy, so it has to get energy and and the strength some how. So by feeding it, it's getting its Nutritionals and energy to heal to be able to get is tentacles out to get photosynthesis in proper order. To be honest, i think it's a goner but you can try feeding and see if it has the strength to eat. But you are going to want to watch it very closely. The moment you start smelling any odor and the anemone look like it's melting amd turning to white goo take it out immediately.

Thanx. Am I looking for a dead fish smell or what. It had been higher a week or so ago and opening for lights. Slipped down to current location and and just blah ever since. Thanx for your input.

There was a case on reefcentral a while back where the nem had almost all tentacles were gone. I suggested that he feed for the same reason, well i got shot down fast by a lot of people, the op followed what everyone else was saying, needless to say about a week later the nem was dead. Not saying everyone else was wrong, just posting what happened. Its always up to the op to decide what to do.

There will be a very off smell. It would smell like death or rot, im guessing it was trying to acclimate to the light amd got to stressed and went downhill. Moving towards the light signals me that it wants more light. You said you have radions correct?
