Anemic Anemone ?

There will be a very off smell. It would smell like death or rot, im guessing it was trying to acclimate to the light amd got to stressed and went downhill. Moving towards the light signals me that it wants more light. You said you have radions correct?

How are your other corals acting? Stretching for light? I target feed mine every few days with lrs reef frenzy. I normally add selcon which is what i highly recommend to give it more vitamins and nutrients.

All other corals look great. I have sone reef frenzy, both frozen and 1mm pellets. Might dissolve some pellets and give it a squirt.

The more chunks it can get shouldn't hurt. Id add vitamins as well

Went to give it a push of frenzy and a good part blew off. Went ahead and pulled it before it did more harm to tank.

Was it really mushy? A healthy nem should be firm

No pics. Used julians thing to feed and it blew out one side with mush blowing out. Figured that was melting like you described.

Im sorry for your loss. Nems are a tricky coral. It all depends on the specimen amd tank in order to know what's going on. Still doing research on a paper i tend to write about the care of experience ive had with anemones

I'd be interested to read that. There is so little info to be had on care. Everything is just let it ride. I'm not sure why this one took a turn. Tank parameters stay in check. All fish fat and happy. All corals I hace usually wind up looking better than at lfs or a local coral shop in town. Tank is only 5 months, so I'm goung to chalk it up to that. Probably won't try another becaust I just started getting zoas and have heard about nems sitting on them. Thanx again for your time and input.

What exactly are the parameters? Any other nems?

Its not just zoas. They will move wherever they want until they find a spot they feel safe and at home. A place where all their needs will be takem care of.

Yeaah thats what i thought to. Obviously it was melting and so it just fell apart.

Yaa...I'm sorry Smokin.... IDK what was wrong but it's done done if your blowing parts of it off. Get it the heck out of your tank serious water change time and I am sorry for you loss.

Yeah some just don't do well with acclimating. It might have been a goner from the get go. Hard to say.
