Anthias with fin issue

I dipped a couple chromis that were suffering from uronema and they all seemed to die shortly after but maybe they were just too far gone at the time.
I may try dipping one tomorrow (won't be home till after lights out tonight)

If a fish doesn’t survive a properly executed FW dip it likely would not have survived anyways.

Yes, one treatment will kill active flukes but the second is necessary to get any that hatch after the first cycle. Prazipro isnt effective against the eggs only after they hatch.

Could more have already hatched and reinfected the fish since the first dose? I was just thinking the the freshwater dip would be pointless since I've already treated with prazi so there shouldn't be any left on the fish?

Yes that is how they reinfect after only one treatment. How long ago was your Prazipro treatment?

Ok then you’ll want the second treatment between 5-7 days. You can still FW to offer relief if the fish seems heavily infested or is having issues.

Yeah I just didn't want to put them (and myself) through a FW dip if it wasn't likely that there would be still be flukes present. I thought the prazi would have taken care of them all.. Until any eggs hatch that is.

Is there anything else that could explain these symptoms.
Also I'm not sure if I should go ahead and start copper or wait until after the second round of prazi is complete

If it were me I’d do a FW dip to determine if you have flukes or not. That will let you know if you need to wait for the second dose of Prazi or if you need to start copper ASAP.
If these were mine I’d FW dip then start copper, if flukes become apparent during Copper you usually manage them with FW dips until you finish with copper.

My five lyretail anthias all made it during QT without copper. To get them eating, I started with freshly hatched brine shrimp, I had to make sure I have a couple of new batches hatching ahead of time. Then I slowly introduced blenderized fresh table shrimp. You can mix any fresh seafood, shellfish if you want. I added a few drops of selcon. It helps when some fish like chromis go crazy when feeding. It makes them compete for food

Ok so I'll do freshwater dip tomorrow and go from there

Just did a freshwater dip on 2 of the 5 anthias (was having too much trouble catching them so only did the 2)
No sign of flukes

Not real sure where to go with treatment now.
The fins seemed to have cleared up as I'm having a hard time pinpointing which fish had that now.
A few of them do still have white around the mouth. And I'm noticing now that they all look dull almost like they have a cloudy film over them.
They are all active and swimming but only 2 are eating.

I'm halfway inclined to finish the 2 week prazi/metro treatment that I've started on and wait on starting copper until after the second prazi dose is complete. (another week and a half)
Just worry about putting off copper treatment

I'm just not crazy about the idea of doing water changes after copper gets to therapudic levels..

I dosed liquid prazi and started metroplex on Thurs and have been doing metroplex every other day at 2 scoops per 10 gallons. 3rd dose went in today.
It's so hard to get photos that show what I'm talking about..
Here's on I just took today that shows a tiny bit of the white around the mouth on the fish at the top but the "filminess" doesn't show

I was going to say the same, I think that would be a step before the skin starts sloughing.

Ok, not likely brook then but I wouldn’t discontinue the metro/prazi. You could do the copper with it, but like you said then you’d have to dose the water change water with copper and keep a steady eye on the copper level.

It could be a mild bacterial infection, though at this point I think I’d focus on continuing your efforts to get them eating. You could give them a 90-minute bath in ruby reef rally (acriflavine) and see if that makes a difference.

As far as getting them eating, it’s my favorite time of year... roe season! I’ve never had a fish refuse it. If you call your local seafood markets they might have some. Just freeze the entire egg sack and cut off slivers to feed. I use an algae clip to hold it.

Does it sound like there's any hurry to get them started on copper? I'll hold off on that if not
Should I be dosing anything for bacterial infection? I have kanaplex on hand
