I just bought these and I don't like the color...way too purple and no blue. Are there any way to modify these? They have great features though
That is awesome! Can i see a picture of it? I mean over your tank?

It also says it has 4 dimmable channels. Have you tried turning some channels off and then increasing the intensity?

I'll send it in a few I'm at work. They are very adjustable but the blues and reds are on the same channel, you cant have the blue look it's purple or full spectrum/white

Haha! Really!? Why would they put the red and blue on the same channel o_O

I'm not sure, it's goofy, I'm thinking they are really grow lights, not changed over to tank lights. I put the Mars Aqua back on the tank because the of this. The controller for the dsuny is cool and what the Mars Aqua needs, if we could blend the two it would be perfect. If you get the dsuny watch the prices I've got the on eBay and they always go up and down in price. I paid less for them than I did the Mars Aqua

Well, thats too bad and good to know! Thanks

I use this unit on my 20 tall. It's been running for a year and 8 months or so now. Been working great. Just a simple 2 channel light with dimmer control for intensity. I suggest you mount them between 12 and 16 inches above water level as they are bright. Plus, they will grow anything.
@reeferfox do u have a pic of your tank with the Mars Aqua light?

Yep. Page 2 post #40 of this thread. :)

The tank in my profile is 4 165 marsaqua on a 150 tall. Blues are 80% and white is 50%. Works well but I am going to replace the led boards with sbreef upgrades in the not so distant future.

They are awesome upgrade kits and easy to install.

OK, here is some pics, not good, but they are pics, different tanks. The purple one is dsuny, the blue is mars aqua. The dsuny is the 12" unit. You can see, very purple and blue & red same channel

Mounting the fixture is still something I'm trying to figure out. Will one of those Kessil Mounting Arms work? I'd rather not hang it from the ceiling if I can , so right now I'm considering one of the metal clamps that are use to hang plants. You screw one side into the wall or a post and then it extends out about 12 inches. The one I was looking at was like $10 at OSH.

@reeferfoxx Where did you get that TV mount at? How high above the tank is the fixture? Is that just a standard 165 watt unit or have you upgraded it in any way?

Thank you everybody. :)

I used a TV mount too, one of the old style ones for the old tube type tv's. I got mind at the thrift store for $2, turned it upside down and mounted it

Being that these things come with two power cords, is one for the blues and one for the whites or is one for all the the lights and one is for the fans?

Mine are one for whites and one for blues

I have 3 mars aqua led lights. I modded them so I can control the dimmers. one light the whites are not as bright as the others. Has this happened to any of you guys ? if yes, what did you do to fix it. don't know if it was like that when I got it. modded it right out of the box
