Any reefers with fake nails?

Who else read through this thread hoping that acrylic nails would be the new miracle device for removing stubborn coralline deposits or internal power head sludge?

I can't tell you how much my life has changed since I discovered the many uses of pantyhose in reefing.

LOL! I love to get my nails done but these are my real nails with an overlay and this is my current design. One thing I learned very quickly is that this hobby is male dominated. That being said gloves work so do a long pair of tweezers or a reaching tool like these. And acetone to get the glue off your fingers/nails. But you learn to live with long nails. I get asked all the time “How do you do anything with those nails?” You just do!!

And to follow up. If any type of nail product is applied correctly (paint, gel, acrylic, etc.) it should not be harmful to the tank or dissolve/fall off in water even for extended periods if it does then the application/prep was done poorly. And super glue which is the same thing as nail glue is not harmful to our tanks and many use it glue frags.

Gorgeous nails! And I get that. It's difficult to do certain things with nails, but you find ways to do them

I would forgo the nails, especially regarding your other post about the conch, you have inverts. Inverts and corals are the first to go when chemicals enter the tank.

I understand the struggle when it comes to maintaining those beautiful nails while enjoying your reef tank hobby. As someone who loves different nail designs, including short nail ideas, I can appreciate the challenge.
