ya... sometimes I think it would be less painful to just pull some cash out of my wallet and burn it and pretend I bought something.

Started to do more trades, at least if something I got in a trade dies, it doesn't really feel painful.

It is mostly fish that empty my wallet though...why must I like the expensive difficult ones?

In the last couple months I’ve lost nearly all my LPS. I was out of town a bunch and had a bunch of alk swings, a rusty magnet, and my GF was dosing about 6x as much chaetogro as she was supposed to (for a little over a month). Anyway, lost all my acans, a scoly, a lobo, a trachy, frogspawn, torch, candy cane, chalice, and probably a few others I’m forgetting. What’s weird is that all my soft corals, anemones, and bubble coral, alveoporas, some of my blastos, and turbinaria all look great. Just added a new Duncan like two weeks ago and so far it’s doing great, so hoping everything is back to normal, but I lost well over $1000 worth of corals.
There is not one person in the history of this hobby that can say they never lost a coral unfortunately.

Lost almost all acros due to an accident with a seahare… The seahare sprayed ink into my 20g tank and everything was purple.

RIP
You sure you didn't have an octopus hitchhiker in there?

Or you can just stare blankly out the window as your wife goes shopping. That's what I do.

I got a couple tiny SPS frags delivered today from one of our well know vendors. They must charge by the millimeter or something because it's to small to go by inch standards. Anyways, I remove the plug from the tiny coral and I'm holding it in the water against the rock where I intend to place it and I drop it. So I watch 80 bucks plus shipping float into a rock crevice where there is no way I can ever retrieve it. I offered the shrimps payment but they refused to bring it out for me. What a wonderful way to start the day. Now I have to go fill my truck gas tank too.
Almost. Have a HG Micro for several months doing well. One night someone dislodges it, falls into a a device in the live rock face down. Can see it but no matter what can’t get to it. Figure it’s a goner. 4 months later turns up at the ntrance of one of my pistol shrimp caves. Bleached, some die off but overall still alive. Pic below is 3 days after the salvage and its doing better very day.

Last year I went on Sunday and was able to score a few sweet deals, vendors really don't want to lug all those corals home!!!
Yes but you weren’t supposed to tell the secret lol !!! , I scored a 4” og bounce mushroom for under a grand that they were selling for twice the amount the day before . Since then and a few other prizes that Sunday I always wait til the last day .shhhhhh! Don’t tell anyone lol! :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Bought a bunch of electric blue hermits, I was really excited to get them in my tank. Maybe they don't ship well or I got a bad batch but I just had to watch as every single one died off one by one, like toys running out of batteries. It hurt to look at.

I have some longtime red led hermits that have grown out of shells a few times. I've never had luck with the regular blue or electric blue in any of my tanks.

I've also had the learning curve issue, but the vast majority of it is finding out that the parts from the factory are cheap crap that don't usually work well. Every time I've run into an issue so far it's been because some part was warped, broken from the factory, or simply didn't work.
I agree with you. You get what you pay for with this cheap 3D printer. I’ve found the best upgrade for the ender 3 was the bl touch sensor and switching it to a direct drive to make is a little more reliable. Cheap parts add up though. I probably paid enough to buy a higher end modelby now, but what’s the fun in that? :grinning-face-with-sweat:

Neither have I, and I've tried on 4 separate occasions from 3 different LFS. I think it's time for me to just throw in the towel on those little guys lol

The irony of this convo, I found a blue leg. Had to move rock to get out a scopas tang and found it!

Snagged a bunch of new fish from Dr. Reef's. Had a male blue throat trigger die in my DT, a blonde naso in observation. They were both very stressed and shy and not eating. Sucks. I tried a couple different things but they just were never right. Dracula goby who committed death by sump by jumping into the overflow and dying in a sock. So yeah... flushed quite a bit of money there. Probably gonna take a break from Dr. Reef's an QT myself this time.

I now have a Oreni Tilefish and a Quoyi in QT that appear to be doing very well and I cannot wait for them to go into the DT. Easily the most I've spent on fish ever so I'm taking ultra care and time with these guys.

I throw away money all the time. Usually In the trash.
Sometimes I cut it up into pieces and sprinkle it in my fish tank. Or just straight burn it. It's just an exchange item after all.
D

Entire acro colony with AEFW eggs threw it straight in the trash

Nope no money thrown away here, nothing to see here, move along...
