Anyone have HR nitrite checker

it says the hanna HR nitrite checker is for salt water also
Where - i can´t find that either on Hannas product page or in the manual

do i diluted 1ml tank water with 9ml fresh salt water got 158ppb x 10 = 1580 x 3.29 = 5198 divided by 1000 = 5.1982 nitrite still crazy high saying as my tank is not converting that much ammonia
Its not uncommon if the nitrification step freeze before the second step. Often happens if the NH4/NH3 concentration is to high. Do another WC - DO NOT add any more ammonia and wait till the NO2 drops if you will chose that pathway to know if your nitrification steps are complete

NO2 in saltwater is not as toxic as in fresh water, hence many people doe not bother NO2 levels - they just wait to see the NH4 become low and start to add fish as Randy recommend.

Personally I prefer to start along this method, knowing if I follow this - I do not get either high NH4/NH3 concentrations or high NO2 levels. An additional advantage is that this method does not result in sky high nitrates when everything is finished and cycled

so you cycle with fish i have a fish reserved for me but sure as hell not taking the chance cycling with a £1350 fish

b4 i put the candy basslet in i wanna see 2ppm ammonia go to 0 within 24 hours
Yes but you must get past the threshold of the second stage first. IMO - the way I would handle this is to introduce a sponge/foam filter like this and add pure nitrification bacteria (not blended formula) like FritzZyme Turbo Start 900

After everything is OK (no NH4 or NO2) take out the filter (if it is not possible to have it going) Never the less - even if you have the system to process the NH4 - you can´t start to feed headless. IMO - its not very wise to start with a fish with that price tag and behavior. Its a shy, twilight loving fish that needs a lot of hiding places and will not often come out if there is no other fish in the aquarium. Not even food will trick it out if it not feel safe in the environment. I have had Liopropoma swalesi (that's from the same genus) in my old aquarium - and that´s no easy fish. The aquarium was 450 L (10 times your tank) and I only saw it now and then.
