@Anirban well i'm 24 hours out from my 10% water change so i would guess things have settled in and test properly.
24 hours ago (before water change): Ca 460 Alk 8.16 Mag 1470
currently: Ca 455 Alk 8.16 Mag 1470
i'm surprised how comparable the numbers are with before but one interesting thing, the water change itself caused another one of my acropora some grief as it's currently fighting a battle to keep it's color.

Let it sit 24 hour more without any dosing except Pro bio S and NP Pro...I want that Ca and Mg to come down by its own.
What kind of grief....tissue loss or colour loss? Don't bother about colour loss as once they have adjusted to the new changes they will colour up. Whats your NO3 and PO4 values? Keep an eye on them. Whats you pH range?

@Anirban
it was progressive color loss, no tissue.
i checked over my phosphate which is sitting at high-normal (0.09ppm) but it isn't really surprising to me as i have been feeding almost 50% more and haven't really found my balance as frozen food seems to only properly cut into halfs and 1/4's doesn't seem to work.
nitrate is another confusing one, today it measures at 1.0mg/L which is actually up from past week of which i have been dosing the np pro and pro bio s. the levels should be reducing from carbon dosing but who knows, maybe things just need a little longer.
otherwise, my zoas are looking better and i'm still getting polyp extension on my surviving acros. the biggest issue that lingers is my green hair algae which has basically been enjoying not having to deal with the gfo i removed by the looks of things.
edit: if forgot the mention my pH which was falling way lower than usual (7.76-7.98) seems a little better this week (7.98-8.26) but i have been intentionally keeping fresh air available to it which i never had to do but i wasn't going to let it fall further.

You are good. Don't worry about the NO3 a little bit of it helps while we are playing around with all those parameters. The PO4 is a bit high because of amount of frozen you are feeding but I think its still under control. The recent pH level is good for the tank and it will help the system to stabilise better.

can you please tell me the recommed dose for components 123 for a 30 gallon tank?
I always tell people that there is no recommended dose for components. You need to balance it based on the system demand. So, if you let me know the details of your system then I can work with you to dial it in.

hello @Aquaforest, I just bought reef salt and I'm interesting completely switching from vodka to aquaforest.

here is a pic of my display tank.

and a few info

tank size 220lt.

daily dose 2.5ml vodka.

every 4 days 10ml microbacter (bacteria) and occasionally prodibio biodigest.

I also use, occasionally, amino acids and sponge power from KZ.

I use calcium reactor and a 6 bulb ATI fixture.

and here is may parameters

alkalinity 6.9- 7.5 dKH

Calcium 400-420 ppm

Magnesium 1.350 ppm (no need to dose)

salinity 35ppt

Nitrates 5ppm

Phosprate 0.052 ppm

How do you suggest to switch method and transfer to full aquaforest program??

What bulb combo? I love the look.

@Anirban i think we're finally to a point where my system is chemically and biologically getting back in order and i can finally see positive changes. coralline algae is starting to grow in places i know were clear of it even 2 days ago. my pH is hanging in that 8.1 to 8.3 range that it should be and my Ca, Alk and Mg are all sliding down controlled instead of the erratic mess of a couple weeks ago.
24 hours ago: Ca 455 Alk 8.16 Mag 1470
currently: Ca 450 Alk 8.0 Mag 1470
the lights are off for a few more hours so i can't really comment on how the tank looks visually but a few zoanthids that we're upset with things started to break out of hibernation yesterday for the first time in a while. thumbs up!

Another day without dosing....but get some AF Kh buffer in stock. Possibly you will need it. But keep dosing NP Pro and Pro Bio S.

good morning @Anirban :)
just finished today's tests and here's what we've got:
24 hours ago: Ca 450 Alk 8.0 Mag 1470
currently: Ca 450 Alk 7.84 Mag 1470
my Calcium and Magnesium seem to be holding their spot but i did have to re-test my Ca as the measurement is right on the edge of being 445 which i would guess will be tomorrow's result.
time to bring that Alkalinity up a little?

Do you have Kh buffer from AF ?

it doesn't really specify how much the 5mL increments will raise the kH. it just basically says add it until you reach an alkalinity of 8-12 dKH which means i get to go buy more. that is frustrating.

Can you give me the name of the product and the company?

it's tailored aquatics dhk plus and i can see just by reading the label a little further that it isn't what i want. it states that it will raise dKH but also reduce nitrates which i'm not interested in seeing as i already am dosing a carbon source with the NP Pro.

Lol....no we dont want that. Get some KH buffer not Kh plus from your LFS.

do you recommend a specific amount to dose? what is the number we're shooting for to hold my Alkalinity at? i assume the number you choose is what i'd ideally try to keep it at ongoing from here.
