Yep, I saw your blue one... looks awesome!

I designed it so the piping for the reactors hugs the underside of the stand. So I simply used pipe clamps to cinch it up there... it's very solid! Here's a better view of the manifold:

Great plumbing job! I see you went with the furniture grade pvc fittings. I have always wondered why more people don't go that route and have thought about doing that with mine. I guess s0ome people don't know that the furniture grade pvc is the same as regular pvc, except it is more resistant to UV damage and has the glossy finish.

The furniture grade isn't that much more expensive than regular PVC either.

I'm pretty sure that although it's not always stocked in the stores, that it's available in just as many colors and even cheaper than the reefing websites, on HomeDepots website.

I bought most of mine from Amazon... it's all the same stuff. At first I was worried that it may not all match if they were from different sources, but they are all identical. I bought pipe from BRS, some fittings from BioTek and some from Amazon... they are all the same exact orange, fittings etc.

Geeze after reading this thread I'm just going to keep my pics to myself. lol

In all honesty I'm about to redo under my stand to build a bigger sump and my OCD will be taking over at that point. I bought a used system to get into SW and now knowing 100% what I was doing I didn't mess with it. Now I've learned a lot and I'm willing to tackle more.

You can check out my build thread for a lot more pictures and to see how it is done. But it's simply what is called edge lit acrylic. There is a layer in there that is clear acrylic. I frost the edge to diffuse the LED light strip that wraps around the clear acrylic, hidden behind the main black panel. There is an orange layer of acrylic that sits behind the clear acrylic. It blocks out light from going back inside where the modules mount. It also serves as a cosmetic piece when the LED lights are not on. The orange color of acrylic was chosen to match my color scheme of the sump... it has no bearing on the color outcome of the edge lighting.
