Australian live rock

It started white in my tank. Now it’s all purple.

And yes it was expensive but included shipping. Will see how it color up and what made it. Here are some initial pics when placed in too small of ank as I did not expect such a large rock. This will change shortly as I will move it.
these expensive rock doesn't match my quality(mainly the color) expectation!

Your correct in that the price will be going up. When they received the last batch It was only 20 per lb back in November and here we are at 25 per lb on this new batch.
Side note I just did a water change and looked over the rock and I see a few brittle stars crawling over the rock so that's a good sign of life after the first 24hrs. I also stumbled on a huge black Crab claw wedged in a crevice. Further inspection revealed that it was only an empty claw but the potential for pests is certainly present.
You ways cycle liverocks
Plus the salinity dip
No worries

Before putting in a display tank I would go get a good coris or leopard wrasse or something along those lines to clean out all those inverts. Can just sell the wrasse if you don't want it long term. small price to pay for the eradication of pests.
No
Dont get livestock for pests
Do a high salinity dip.
Cycling we will be doing a lot of water changes. Observation period and then add to tank.
We never have wrasse cycling live rock when first starting.
Same concept. Using fishes for pest control where you have no attachment to them is just PIA
Buyer use then sell etc.

I just picked up the last 3 pounds it looks like. I hope they get another shipment in again. Excited to see what it looks like next week.

I am now very glad I ordered 7LB right before it went out of stock. I was going to wait until I got home from work, but a gut feeling told me it would be worth leaving a little later to place the order right away. Ordered 30 minutes before this out of stock post. Got home an hour ago, would have missed it.

My tank has a bit too much rock in it already for my taste. After the Aussie rock cures I'll probably remove at least 5 of the 15LB of KP rock I added in January. Happy with the KP rock, but it's probably not as porous as this looks, and it's still white except on the surface. That's to be expected though with dry rock that was aquacultured for a relatively short period compared to natural ocean rock.

Scheduled for delivery on Friday, I'll upload photos of the pieces at some point over the weekend.

Dang bummed I missed out on this!

Out of stock :O ?

I just got an e-mail from uniquecorals that they posted some more liverock to their site! Just ordered another 7 lbs for a total of 10 lbs. Will post photos next week when it arrives!

I just happened to have an order of coral waiting to ship when I got the e-mail on Friday about this rock, so I tagged on three pounds to check it out.

It certainly doesn't look anything like UC's picture, but I think it's worth the price. It looks & smells like it was plucked out of the ocean very recently. My piece was partially sitting in mud. It has plenty of life on it, and that's really where the value is. It will look much different in a couple of months.

Just panic bought 4lbs for my 3g jar, which I think might be a bit too much. Inside diameter is 9.5", height 10.5", slightly less than a 5 gallon bucket.

From you guys who have already received, do you think that is way too much for an interesting scape in this? I'm also using a small canister filter so maybe I can break the extra up and put it in there. If I way over ordered I'll reach out to them and modify the order as I made it for next week delivery

Hard to say if it's the right amount or too much I think 4 may be perfect or Id anything maybe just 3lbs. You may benefit from sending them your dimensions and seeing what quantity they suggest. They may have the perfect sized piece your looking for.

Just checked my ammonia levels after rock being in curing bucket for 24 hrs. Ammonia levels high at 4.0. Had a fresh bucket already made and moved rock into new bucket. Will check again in 24 hrs.

I see the Aussie Rock is back in stock. So tempted to order another 7 lbs. This is some really nice rock.

Based on my 3lb, it should fit. Worst case you may have to break it a bit.
