I'm pretty certain it's a bristle worm though, I've seen it a few times. I don't know how long it is but too long for my liking.

Lol, chasing things in my tank never worked out well for me.

Ever look at your tank and think, that looks good tonight! I might jinx my self but alk is sitting steady at 8.1 for some time now.

I'm not a contestant, but I wanted to show my experience on how this great acro does once it finally settles in.

Wow! The difference between July and today is astounding! Tons of encrusting and then boom, colony in the making. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

Well done!

Maintenance day, added 12 gallons to replace evaporation and a 16 gallon water change.
Here's day 19
Blue Snipes Day 19.jpg

And here's day 19 for a BC Blue Snipes grown under MH and is getting 270 PAR from a Mars Aqua LED fixture. It's about 8" from my LED BC Blue Snipes contest frag.

Encrusting along slowly.

Should be getting ICP results this week

Recent ICP results....
Elevated molybdenum levels are only red flag, which Randy Holmes feels is not a significant concern. It is trending downward from a a few months ago. Iodine remains undetectable in spite of starting Red Sea Colors, but only dosing at about half the recommended dose so I'll bump that up a bit.

It's been 2 weeks since I swapped to MH only lighting. No issues so far. Pretty happy with the color as well. I've never been a fan of blue lit tanks to be honest. Here's a pic of the Snipers blue from a few minutes ago. The back side of the frag has started to encrust the plug. Probably because that side of the coral gets a bit more light.

What size tank and how much are you dosing a day?

I was thinking of running at 9.5 dkh instead of seven see if I get better growth

You know I'm conservative with changes, so I'd never recommend you changing Alk.

But when I ran Triton Other Methods, I always took the high end of their 7-8 range and ran at 8. I just felt better running there than their preferred 7.

Yeah I know but that brs video about higher alk has me thinking

I have one of the steadiest dkh prolly in the world like I have it down to a .2 swing for a whole day (and I’m still adjusting to make it without any swing)

So if I slowly raised just my alk by 1.5 and keep my doseing the same theoretically everything will be the same plus my calcium has always been over 500

I don’t know just a thought what’s he worst that could happen? I’m one water change away from being back at eight
