This is exactly why I went with a overflow from exotic marine systems. When I upgraded to my 150 it came pre drilled for a synergy overflow. The synergy is designed similar to your overflow with the inner box mounted higher then the outside box creating a small waterfall. After setting up the tank I knew it wasn't going to work with the noise it was making. Tried everything I could to quiet it down to no avail. I threw in the towel and ordered a new overflow from exotic marine. blissful silence ever since.

They have ones that will match the hole placement for these “synergy” style ones or was it custom?
They can make the overflow holes to any dimensions you want. Mine was custom made from the specs the tank manufacturer gave me. I think he might be 1 guy building these as a side gig. I ordered during Christmas time and it took 2 and a half weeks to get delivered. Just a heads up. Great build quality though.

Nice I actually just sent him an email so hopefully it can work with my hole setup.
2 weeks isn’t that bad for something custom to be made, especially for that time of year
