Sorry to be that dude with the ASAP in the title but we're having a bizarre cold front in Dallas. It's been < 15 degrees F for the last three days with 6" of snow. They are now doing rolling blackouts and I need to get an emergency generator. I have to get one from home depot.

Was hoping y'all have some quality suggestions that I can go snag real quick in case I get caught up in this.

Honda use Briggs and straton motors and well as a lot of other brands. I'd recommend any they have left. Usually when things like this happen generators get cleaned out. Try for something 5000 and up. Thag way you can power the whole house.

Before you go make sure you know which 220 outlet you have. That way u can just shut the main breaker off and power the house using the 220 outlet.

Predator 3500 from harbor freight. Basically a Honda. Quiet and efficient. I use it for my RV and emergency’s. Had it for 5 years. Always starts up and runs. 699.99.

if it is just for your just worried about your fish tank, a local fishing supply store will have portable air pump that run on batteries for $10-20.

They're all sold out. Not even inverters. Waiting on fb marketplace.

Always thought I was fine since I live in Dallas... DON'T EVER THINK YOU ARE OK. I still have power but need to think up of something asap or I'm screwed.

Those little honda or knock off rv ones are good. People use em campin and dirtbike riding. I needed one on the fly so my ex and i drove down the the auto parts store and bought the $600 rattily shaky loud mthrfr!

how big is your tank? What is your load? You may be able to get a small inverter you can hook to your car battery, and just use your car as the generator with a drop cord with an outlet/multi strip to your tank. Small cost if your load is 20A or less.

Will have to check auto stores tomorrow. Everything is shut down early. Feeling helpless here.

Yamaha makes a very good one, I think it’s better than the Honda, try boating and power equipment stores. Yamaha makes the boat motors so they sell them there sometimes

Also farm supply stores like Rural king/ tractor supply carry generators. Not sure if those chains are in Texas, but something similar would do.
