Mine is finicky. Its my second frag. Its been plagued with alk instability for the last 6 months but its hanging on. Its been the slowest to recover of all my frags though. Hope to be posting pics of it one day, LOL!

Thanks Tom, yep things are doing pretty well. I haven't said anything about it yet, but I have been nitrate dosing for a couple months after being frustrated with pale colors and a few corals just " giving up" the Chip's being one of them - ouch. Zero nitrates just didn't cut it.
Can you tell us more about the nitrate dosing ? how you do it and what you use ? :)

not the best but I guess from reading a couple comments mine might be in to much light? What's the best rang to pull the orange too?

I'm sure you can pull yellow/orange quite a few different ways but for me hitting it with around 250-300 par works best. Medium flow with alk from 7-9

Thanks yeah I think mines been in the 450+ I'm going to lower it down a bit and see

Nice to see some of your beautiful corals Scott. Looking real good.

Thanks Alicia! You are still first on the list if the ORA German Blue Poly Acro ever starts growing again.

Sure I can. Rather than hijack this thread, I will just start a new thread here in the SPS forum.

Show macro shots of my colony still coloring back up after I moved it.

Time to revive this, with a picture. Its taken some patience but mine is finally showing more than brown :) .... well from the top down atleast, ha!

Hopefully one day I can get mine to color up. Growing like a weed, just not much color.

I think frags of this are always better looking than colonies. I can cut a frag and it will turn orange, green, red, and dvin some blue. But my colony is pretty much just red.

I would dare to say your right and add that this like a number of corals look rainbowish as frags because they have a growth rim which is easy to see and getting more light than when a full colony. When you take a picture under blue and other non white leds that brings out even more colors that aren't really there under other normal daylight situations. I would not really call that the true color of the coral but makes for beautiful pictures none the less.

Sweet acro!

The colors are there. Interesting though. You'd think a colony would still have those colors on the tips. I'll update once I have a full colony, mines roughly 6" tall by 3-4" wide so more of a large multi branched frag. My shot was under 5 blue+ 2 purple+ 1coral+ and a reefbrite tech strip. Definitely not a 10k shot but still daylight.

My little frag is beginning to reawaken after my colony RTN'd and I cut this piece off to save the coral.
