Best Putty or Glue for Aquascaping??

Isn't aqustik just a repackaged version of the epoxy putty they sell at Lowe's and Home Depot? I've used that stuff for ages, works great. Stark white in the beginning, but colors up with the rocks eventually.

TBH no idea the outside of it is red and the center is dark grey when you mix it it becomes a light purple smells like butt but holds great!

I just stack my rocks in a stable form and add a few blobs of epoxy putty (either water weld or D&D) to completely stabilize things. Not really into all this arches stuff though - they offend my aesthetic sensibilities LOL.

The Pollymor plastic stuff sucks as it doesn't get coraline on it easy. I have rock covered with coraline and the stupid white plastic has stood out for one year and going.

That E-Marco cement looks interesting. They mentioned it's 100% non toxic, Triton ICP tested.

Nylos cement mentioned not harmful to corals or fish but then says low in harmful substances.

Aquaforest Stone Fix this might be pretty good too.

I wonder how some of these will stand up long term. I have read reviews where they work great but then 6 months to a year later it falls apart.

If it's like cement it's not likely to fall down unless you went to crazy with the overhang.

Jurassic Gel has been solid for a year and a half, for me. I spoke with the creator (of Jurassic Gel, not God) and they used it for exhibits at Underwater World at the Mall of America over a decade ago and it's still holding.

I use plastic zip ties for extra strength, then lodge reef cement over the tie if its visible from the front. After corals grow over the area, you can't see the break area.

Are you doing it dry or wet? Is the tank inhabited?

Marco makes a cement , and there’s a few two part epoxies out there. For out of the tank or while cycling.

Tunze Coral Gum, for putty uses, the best I’ve used, it works great, and I suck when it comes to putty.

I drilled and pinned some Tonga when I did my new aquascape to put pieces together and blended the seams with putty. The Tonga branch assembly on the right was originally 4 or 5 pieces.

I tried aquaforest stonefix and it was terrible, messy, hard to work with and didn't hold at all. Granted that was in a dry application, it is Portland cement but didnt hold after curing. I ended up using acrylic rods and jb water weld

I just used some plain old super glue, though I did go through a lot
