best way to kill single aiptasia?

I have a single aiptasia about the size of a dime in my 14g nano. Its right up next to my hammer and appears to be stinging it (polyps on that side are withdrawn). What is the best way to rid my tank of this pest? hot RO water or one of the commercial products available?

Dynamite. I started my first one with aiptasia x. Must have not completely covered it fast enough, now it's just a maintenance task. They are popped up all over.

Not really possible. I will try the hot water or someone in another forum suggested covering it in super glue since it is coming out of a small hole in the live rock. never heard of that one before.

Superglue gel or some reef epoxy and tomb it in the hole. Make sure to pack it in well.

There's no possible way to remove the rock and remove the aptasia outside of the tank? That would be the best method. A hard task now can prevent a major battle and headache down the road.

Take the rock out or try a peppermint shrimp. They are dirt cheap from petco.

Aptaisiax, hot water, glue, putty... when these aptaisia shrink they often release babies and before you know there will be more pop up in the tank.
Well at least you have options.

I’ve always had good luck with a very generous helping of AptasiaX if I can’t remove the rock. If I can, every means at my disposal!

I also find keeping half a dozen peppermint shrimp around keeps this from becoming a problem though I rarely see them work over a larger anemone.

Yeah I'm just not willing to essentially dismantle the entire tank (this is in the center of my rock work in a 14g with glued corals). going to try the super glue idea. Thanks guys.

Try the AptasiaX, wait a day, then superglue the area. Why try one method when you can use two.

There are a couple of youtube videos showing copperband eats aiptasia very well. I have margined coralfish, a kind of chelmon, and some say it eats aiptasia, too, but I haven't seen it because there's no aiptasia in my tank.

I had good luck with Joe's Juice, but I had to do 3 applications before It completely died and never came back!!

Not an option in a 14g tank. Boiling water from a syringe has produced the best results for me (Aiptasia X has never done more than knocking them back for a few days to a week).

If you use the super and the rock has a lot of other holes then plug them up too. Most of the time the aptasia will find another exit from the same rock.

I used a small syringe / needle to inject lemon juice. The effect is immediate.

Feed it some kalk paste

It will burn it away. Make up some and put on with syringe from say joes juice. Works well.
