“Daaaaannggg!”
Ha ha! When you this long in the hobby prospectives change. Most of us put 10s of thousands of dollars in our systems..

But in all seriousness, there is always a risk no matter the vendor. Clearly I used battle coral because I saw all the good reviews.
But my point was: there is always a risk in online shopping.

I do not like throwing blanket statements and talk because I heard something from someone...I share my own personal experience that all....

Im lucky and have people like Ryan Russo (Russo757), Steven Jay, Jeff Knight (reef chief), and several others that have all the goods and live with in 45 mins of me. Ive also been very lucky to have set up purchases right here and received very nice stuff.

Nothing like seeing the thing with your own eyes..

Ha ha, well I did not say I did not tell him.
I got 1st shipment it was mostly dead except for small frag.
I told the the guy, once he saw the pics, he prepared diffrent shipment (something he chose) and ship it. Kudos go him
It also arrived mostley dead except small frag.
At this point it was not worth going back and keep doing this loop. Neither I would ask for my money back because when I order online I understand the risk. I did not expect the guy to intentionally send me dead coral...so it was only fair i bare the consequences and move on. The way I see it Adam also lost a shipment he was not paid for....

Not 100% sure i know who this is but I'm sending a PM now to confirm.

Hi adam, send me a PM. You know me well.
Honestly do not worry too much, I did not want to talk about this rather was sharing an experince is all.. but go ahead send me a pm.

Cheers

No offense, but you went on the largest forum in the world and nicely aired some dirty laundry about a seller that tries very hard and helps out a lot here. I’d be surprised if they didn’t worry.

Ha ha. Well adam is a big boy and reputable retail, one review will not move the needle. Also not sure what are you advocating here? Reporting nice things only?
People need to know the risks associated with things, regardless of how good a vendor is, online shipping always carry a risk. This is what this about.

there was a post or 2 challenging me and calling me a liar which pushed me to give more informstions that I was not intending to do...so here we are;)

It's a review my good sir, many have good experince. I happened to have bad one. Its ok.

Btw the guy is cool, offering to refund me. So do not worry he is not worry

As for me, no offense taken:)

Ad for me, no offense taken:)

There wasn’t much of a review. You stated that you were unhappy and hasn’t given the seller a chance to make it right. He’s had to find out, second hand, to make it right, and has. I always give the seller a chance to make it right before I give ANY feedback.

I love battle coral, but I have lost alot of money in recent shipments I stopped buying from there any more:(
I have experienced the same on my last 2 orders. While I still love Adams corals and will buy from him I've lost half of each order, He does make it right though. One time I asked for a skinny love and he forgot it and he sent it the next day so thats excellent customer service!

And that's all it was.
I purchased a larg shipment it arrived dead
Retail sent me another shipment it arrived dead.
I did not seek more action to avoid killing more coral. Neither the vendor followed up on the status of the 2nd shipment btw.
since I knew the risk am getting in to, I just moved on..

When someone called on adam to this post he pm me offering refund(again reputable retailer) I refused cause again it's not fair he already sent a 2nd shipment.

Conclusion: coral died, no one is immune to shipping issues when it come to live stock.

What else you wnat me to do?

Are you blaming me for getting dead coral or you blaming for saying it?
To me the loss is not only money, I consider the coral that died is a loss...

At this point I will move on since the way I see it we just keep talking about the vendor while you saying we should not...

To get back on topic;
@Battlecorals
@BoomCorals
@uniquecorals
@LiveAquaria
Are all companies I've ordered from and had nothing but good experiences. The @LiveAquaria one especially as I got to tour their Rhinelander facility multiple times. Very cool setup and you can pick your coral right out of the propagation system and receive %10 off for the tour discount :)

I have bad luck with a vendor who specializes in clean algae, pods, captive bred inverts, etc. My orders arrive more dead than alive, my guess is there's a breakdown somewhere in the delivery chain.

I ordered 4 or 5 times, they replaced dead snails and more dead snails arrive, so I stopped ordering like you did to stop the waste. Tracking never shows any delays, I don't know if USPS is storing them in an unconditioned space prior to delivery, shaking the box like a maraca, whatever they are doing I think they are the cause of my issue not the vendor.

I think I spotted the delivery guy the other day now that you mention it.

Just read through the posts....There’s a lot of passion in this hobby and business, no doubt. Much respect to battle corals for reaching out and to the poster for sharing his experience. It seemed to be a very matter of fact report in which he points out the dead loss as part of the process/inherent risk versus willful neglect or sloppy practices. In any event I’m glad to see the passion and commitment in the community and thank you all for the posts. As Ali G would say, “Respect!”

On a serious note what are some fast growers with nice coloration (multi-colored) you all might recommend??
If possible I’d like to purchase 3-4 for around $250. I look forward to your recommendations.

Honestly, I’d suggest a battlebox and let Adam at @Battlecorals know you want fast growers. He’ll hook you up.

Red planet grow fast in my system.
Battle coral have PC rainbow, and red Robin grew fast with me as well
But careful every coral grow diffrent depend on the system, it's not just a slow growing vs fast growing. Some people find red planet slow grower...

His offer to refund you after the fact shows he’s indeed a good guy. And so are you, quite frankly, with your reasoning (not taking a refund after you accepted a second shipment). Cheers to you both. [emoji106]

I meant it when I said I like adam, and that's why I did not want him to lose money, its not like he intentionally did that...it happens. That was the point I was making. There is always a risk, we should own the risks we take..its only fair. I do not like killing coral...

Thanks for the nice words you are a stand up and kind person as well..

Sweet. I’m going to check out the retailers mentioned (already have some prospective carts to compare on their sites) and look into other suggestions like upcoming discounts, frag swaps, and local sellers for purchases down the line.

I can understand exactly where you're coming from. I'm sure most people will demand a refund or replacement. I had a similar situation with a vendor who I purchased high end fishes from. I had a shipment with a lennardi wrasse, feminus wrasse, gem tang and a couple other rare wrasse. When I got the shipment, only the feminus wrasse made it. I let the vendor know and he replaced the DOA. Second shipment comes and the lennardi plus the other wrasses which made it. Two gem tangs DOA. I didn't bother telling the vendor the second gem tang didn't make it. He already lost a lot of money on the dead fish plus shipping both times. So I completely get it, some people might not but like you, didn't want the vendor to continue losing money.

Boom corals is like 20 min from me and Battle Corals an hour...I am living the dream but my tank is only 22g and I am out of room!!!

Cultivated Reef would be my suggestion. They are fantastic too! And that would get you a different shipping hub/route.
