BIOCUBE CALLOUT!!

I have always gone with the more traditional tank where I could pick my equipment like lighting. Got my biocube 29 about February of 16 got the flow good filtration I.e water quality is great however just can't seem to figure out the lighting it seems. I have lost more coral then I care to with little to no growth. Is anyone really successful with the stock hood? I'm thinking of ditching it and going with other lighting already which would go against my reason for trying a biocube to start. A few things I'm sure will be asked yes I have been in aquatics for a number of years but always fowlr tanks and fresh water this is my first venture in to reef. And the rock ,sand ,and some other things the cube was started with had been in a fowlr tank that was up a few years.

So can I ask a question? The rapid led kit for the biocube...worth it? Am considering it but would like to hear others on the subject...Steve's led is a consideration as well but the prices seem to be higher with Steve then with rapid led for from what I can tell is the same equipment... Any thoughts?
I ran rapid led for a year and liked them. I say like because i saw little growth but my color mix was off to. There customer service is great. I did uograde to a AI prime and went lidless and have better growth and ph is easy to maintain.

Nice job! Love the RPE's!

Here is my Oceanic BC29 with a Nanobox LED retrofit. The tank has been up and running for just about 4 months. I just began stocking coral a little over week ago. The front rock is my Acan garden. The two side rocks will have more flowing wavy LPS and the center top rock will eventually be populated with SPS.

Oh by the way, my rocks aren't really that florescent green. On my Nanobox LEDs, I have my white / lime channel turned all the way up and my blue, cyan and UV channels turned way down in order to take better photos with my cellphone. For some reason, it makes my rocks look highlighter yellowish green.

Hi all! May I ask what stands are you using to support your bc29? Anyone modify the stock stand and find it to well worth it? I would like to put larger feet on the stock stand to raise it up off the ground some but am not sure the stand could take the stress. Thank you!! ~Lindsey (complete noob to this hobby!)

I ended up using a octogan end table from the 70's. Super solid/heavy duty. And I was able to drill through the back to run the cables for all the accessories inside.
