Picked up a new 20" black box light by Phlizon. I'm going to swap out some of the diodes to improve the spectrum.

This is how the new layout will be.
55 3w leds
2-390nm
7-410nm
2-420nm
10-440nm
18-470nm
2-520nm Green
2-660nm Red
2-3000k
4-6500k
6-10000k

That's well rounded! Where you sourcing the diodes from? eBay?

I did look into them. I like that they use different lenses depending on the diode. I really wanted a 20" light and this is perfect for the size tank I'm going to put it on. I got the light for $55 and the diodes for $10. That's still half the price of the sb light, and with a fully customized spectrum.

Much more expensive than either, but I keep seeing good things about the Noopsyche (which I probably butchered the spelling of).

For $150 it's a solid steal, as it rivals the AI Hydra's and supposedly stands in the shadow of a Radion. The problem is you also need the $60 controller. It's interesting if it had that built in as wifi / bluetooth program and was $200, people would be less critical.

People don't like having so many controllers haha

With the Noopsyche you can control 16 lights with 1 controller.
First light is $219 because of the controller but each additional is only the $159 each, seems like a deal.

Correct. I think people just don't like controllers. I know I definitely don't myself.
