Seeing some things about UV. I understand use in the case of a bacterial bloom. Do some people run these all the time? If so, what are the benefits or drawbacks?

Yes, some folks swear by them.
Basically , anything small and easily burned up, poo , pee, bacteria , some say small bugs and viruses, are burned to a crisp. They are then in theory more easily skimmed out or removed by socks, carbon etc.

No real down fall save the powerbill , or some think it may impact good stuff that corals and NPS and filter feeders eat.

Are you familiar with the Kruger-Dunning study? Basically, the people who are clueless on something think they know more than they do because they don't know what they don't know. As people learn, they start to know enough to realize how much they don't know. Once they become experts, they tend to think they know less than they do.

Today was just one of those days. My battery died at the gas pump. I ended up pushing my car into a parking space by myself in heels and a skirt. 3 nice gentleman we're kind enough to watch. 175.00 later...ta da...new battery.
